Let's Talk
Glass Tiger Lyrics

Just a boy, seventeen
You changed my life, over and over
Sexy girl, a movie queen
I've never seen the sunlight shining
Now looking back at my life
Played some games, over and over
And I broke some hearts, once or twice
Now I'm standing all alone
Down on my luck nowhere to go
Let's talk about
Who's to blame
Let's talk about
Hiding shame
Let's talk about
What to do
Let's talk about
Trying to turn what's wrong into right
Running to catch up with my life

People come but lovers go
I'd change the scene, over and over
Some give and take is what we need
I never felt it was worth trying
Oh, can't you see that all my life
I'm born to run, over and over
So take me home I'll make you mine
Trying to turn what's wrong into right
Running to catch up with my life

Let's talk about
What to do
Let's talk about
Me and you
Let's talk about
Who's to blame
Trying to turn what's wrong into right
Running to catch up with my life

Oh, I know you've seen this all before
Why do you keep on trying more
You tell me love's worth fighting for
What are we fighting for!

Now I'm standing all alone
Down on my luck nowhere to go

Let's talk about
Who's to blame
Let's talk about
Hiding shame
Let's talk about
What to do
Let's talk about
Trying to turn what's wrong into right
Running to catch up with my life

This song truly is a "Hidden Gem". I had to actually look it up for a listen. Immediately I recognized the tune but have to admit it is one missing on my eighties hit list. Soon to rectify.

I loved Diamond Sun by them. And Thin Red Line.

"You're what I look for" is one of their best songs.

Take a listen to I Will Be There. Bryan Adams also supplies backing vocals, as he does on Don't Forget Me (When I'm Gone). The opening lines are some of the best I've ever heard. Terrific song.

I was the same. I know a couple of Glass Tiger songs but this one was a blank until I heard it in the video.

My favorite Glass Tiger song. It just has that quintessential 80's gloss/production that makes it impossible not to love. One of those blast it in the car songs. Cool interview with Alan and Sam. Thumbs up as always.

Yellow Walkman

The production is everything.

Yep, clean, polished and precise but still full of emotion. Comes from a time when musicians were at their peak. Now they are few and far between and producers just want to make a computer file, not a song.

As a teenager growing up in BC, this was one of those albums of the time that I could just play from front to back over and over and over and over.... GT was one of my favorite bands of the time, along with Honeymoon Suite. I never really knew at the time and I guess I still don't, just how much airplay these Canadian bands got and how popular either of them were south of the border.

No arguing, however, that the music Glass Tiger and Honeymoon Suite produced back then, still holds up very well today. Just goes to show how timeless great music really is.

I had a chance to meet them in Vancouver in 1986. But I never did. 😭
