Don't Stop Believin'
Glee (Rachel & Finn) Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Just a small town girl
Livin' in a lonely world
She took the midnight train goin' anywhere

Just a city boy
Born and raised in South Detroit
He took the midnight train goin' anywhere
A singer in a smokey room
The smell of wine and cheap perfume
For a smile they can share the night
It goes on and on and on and on

Strangers waiting
Up and down the boulevard
Their shadows searchin' in the night

Streetlight, people
Livin' just to find emotion
Hidin' somewhere in the night

Workin' hard to get my fill
Everybody wants a thrill
Payin' anythin' to roll the dice
Just one more time

Some will win, some will lose
Some are born to sing the blues
Oh the movie never ends
It goes on and on and on and on

Strangers waiting
Up and down the boulevard
Their shadows searchin' in the night

Streetlight, people
Livin' just to find emotion
Hidin' somewhere in the night

Don't stop believin'
Hold on to that feelin'
Streetlight, people, oh oh oh

Don't stop believin'
Hold on to that feelin'
Streetlight, people, oh oh oh

Don't stop!

I realize now why this was so amazing. The kids were literally just enjoying themselves, no fancy choreography, no fancy costume, no glitzy backdrop. They made this look like a genuine raw performance. In some way this is more enjoyable to watch than the glitzier numbers. Today I have a humongous lump in my throat watching Cory…

@krustykrab181

So I started rewatching the show and I know what you mean! I never got why people would argue this was the best performance until I rewatched it. It’s pure fun and raw talent. So good! It sets the mood for the entire series.

@joan5582

@Krusty Krab yes and I wish they did more numbers like this. Made it look more like a high school glee club.

@aasthasahay993

Got goosebumps everytime it played after this
