Say
Glee Cast Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Some things, we don't talk about
Rather do without
Just hold the smile
Falling in and out of love
Ashamed and proud of
Together all the while

You can never say never
While we don't know when
But time and time again
Younger now than we were before

Don't let me go
Don't let me go
Don't let me go

Don't let me go
Don't let me go
Don't let me go

Picture, you're the queen of everything
Far as the eye can see
Under your command
I will be your guardian
When all is crumbling
Steady your hand

You can never say never
While we don't know when
But time, time, and time again
Younger now than we were before

Don't let me go
Don't let me go
Don't let me go

Don't let me go
Don't let me go
Don't let me go

We're pulling apart
And coming together again and again
We're growing apart
But we pull it together
Pull it together, together again

Ooh

Oh, don't let me go
Don't let me go
Don't let me go

Don't let me go
Don't let me go
Don't let me go

Don't let me go
Don't let me go
Don't let me go

Don't let me go

Don't let me go
Don't let me go

Overall Meaning

The Glee Cast's song "Say" is an emotional and introspective portrayal of the complexities of love and relationships. The lyrics touch on the idea of some things being left unsaid in a relationship, and the struggle to balance feelings of shame and pride. The second verse is a bit more hopeful, with the idea of being a guardian for a loved one in a time of need. Your song

nina love

I think the reason this performance is more emotional than any other is because Darren puts more emotion into his songs than anyone else on Glee. His voice is so deep and soulful.

Robert -

love when Marley and Kitty become friends - love moments like that and love their parts in this song smiling and singing at each other :) - just say what you need to say only say what only say what . . . .so lovely - that song shows how great they are when they are altogether as friends

I'm agree with you. I love Darren and his character Blaine, he's an amazing singer but actually there are a lot of people with talet, for example Jake and Artie are amazing too, they have awesome voices and they could have more solos.
