Americano Dance Again
Glee Cast Feat. Kate Hudson Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
In floral shorts as sweet as May
She sang in eighths in two Barrio chords
We fell in love but not in court
Aah-America
Mis canciones son de la revolución
If you love me, we can marry on the west coast
On a Wednesday, en un verano de agosto
I wanna dance, and love, and dance again
I wanna dance, and love, and dance again
Aah-America-Americano (I wanna dance)
Aah-America-Americano (I wanna dance)
I will fight for
How I've fought for
How I love you (la la la la la la la)
I have cried for
I will die for
How I care (la la la la la la la)
In the mountains
Las campanas
Están sonando (la la la la la la la)
Todos los chicas (Chicas)
Y los chicos (hicos)
Se están besando (la la la la la la la)
I wanna dance, and love, and dance again
I wanna dance, and love, and dance again
Aah-America-Americano (I wanna dance)
Aah-America-Americano (I wanna dance)
If this would be a perfect world
Let's do it, do it, do it
Only got just one life, this I've learned
Who cares what they're gonna say (let's do it, do it, do it)
I wanna dance, and love, and dance again
I wanna dance, and love, and dance again
Aah-America-Americano
I wanna dance
Aah-America-Americano
I wanna dance
Oh, oh, oh
I wanna dance
Aah-America-Americano

The lyrics to "Americano/Dance Again" by Glee Cast Feat. Kate Hudson tell the story of two lovers who meet in East LA. The woman is wearing floral shorts and has a sweet disposition, singing in two Barrio chords. They fall in love, but not in court. The lyrics then transition to the singer's personal life in which they sing about their revolutionary songs and how their heart aches for their generation. They propose marrying on the west coast on a summer Wednesday in August.
The song goes on to express the desire to dance and love over and over again, representing the feeling of living life to the fullest. It speaks to the potential for a perfect world where we only have one life to live, so who cares what others might say about how we choose to live it. The song ends with an enthusiastic chorus of people proclaiming their desire to dance.

I am not a stranger to the dark
Hide away, they say
'Cause we don't want your broken parts
I've learned to be ashamed of all my scars
Run away, they say
No one'll love you as you are
But I won't let them break me down to dust
I know that there's a place for us
For we are glorious
When the sharpest words wanna cut me down
I'm gonna send a flood, gonna drown 'em out
I am brave, I am bruised
I am who I'm meant to be, this is me
Look out 'cause here I come
And I'm marching on to the beat I drum
I'm not scared to be seen
I make no apologies, this is me
Oh-oh-oh-oh
Oh-oh-oh-oh
Oh-oh-oh-oh
Oh-oh-oh-oh
Oh-oh-oh, oh-oh-oh, oh-oh-oh, oh, oh
Another round of bullets hits my skin
Well, fire away 'cause today, I won't let the shame sink in
We are bursting through the barricades and
Reaching for the sun (we are warriors)
Yeah, that's what we've become (yeah, that's what we've become)
I won't let them break me down to dust
I know that there's a place for us
For we are glorious
When the sharpest words wanna cut me down

@RUTHLESS OG Grief has many different healing stages.
RUTHLESS OG
@em grief is literally you healing and moving on😐

@RUTHLESS OG It's not that easy. It's not easy to move on from a lot of things. It's not easy to move on from grief, trauma, your past, relationships, family relationships that didn't work out, etc. Just because it may be easy for YOU, does NOT mean it'll be easy for everyone else. Everyone is different and time we take to move on varies. Moving on from ANYTHING is easier SAID than DONE.

You know what's great about The Greatest Showman? I already feel in love with the songs EVEN BEFORE I saw the film. I didn't even know Rewrite the Stars, This is Me and Never Enough all came from one film. That's when you know the film's score is SUPERB.
