Coast To Coast
Glenn Hughes Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Goin' today, just passin'
The road I know so well
Seems the more I ride you
You give me more
You'll tell
And if I try
Soon it will show
To keep me strong
And know that I've had times
So good
From coast to coast
Leavin' my hard times behind

And if I try soon it will show
To keep me strong
And know that I've had time
So good from coast to coast
Leavin' my hard times behind

Oh I love the coast
I love the coast

Oh yeah, oh yeah
I love the coast

I was at this filming...the band had done an amazing version of "Coast To Coast" only to be told they had to play it again as the audio had been lost to technical gremlins. I was sitting there thinking; "Oh man...that performance was over the moon...he has to do it again??" He did. And he topped the lost version! He is THE MAN!!!

I never realized how much Glenn Hughes was influenced by Stevie Wonder until I saw this performance. I always knew he drew his funk and soul style from various artists but he definitely is influenced by Stevie Wonder' s vocal style .

A band called "The Exes" covered this song in a bar in New Smyrna Beach years ago, I fell in love with it. What can I say about Glenn Hughes that hasn't been said? Brilliant.
