After high school, Glenn began recording demos and performing at nightclubs, eventually becoming a respected act in Toronto. He parlayed this success into the release of his first single, "The Thing To Do," in 1998 on Beat Factory/BMG. The song won him a Juno Award for Best R&B Recording. His second single, "Bout Your Love," earned him a Juno nomination.
This exposure eventually landed him a deal with Epic Records. Glenn's debut album, World Outside My Window, was released on March 19, 2002. Fueled by the hit single "Don't You Forget It," the album peaked at #4 on the Billboard charts. He promoted the album by touring with R&B singers Alicia Keys and Tweet, among others.
In 2002, Lewis recorded a cover version of "Superstition" for the tribute album, Conception: An Interpretation of Stevie Wonder's Songs. Glenn also makes a brief appearance in the 2002 film Maid in Manhattan starring Jennifer Lopez and Ralph Fiennes. He contributed the song "Fall Again" to the film's soundtrack. A concert DVD, Glenn Lewis Live, was released in 2003.
Glenn prepared his sophomore album, Back For More for release in 2003. The first single, also titled "Back For More," and featuring rapper Kardinal Offishall, was released to radio and a video began to air. Unexplicably, the album was pushed back, first to later in the year, then to 2004. It remains unreleased. In the meantime, Glenn netted a Grammy nomination for his contribution to Stanley Clarke's "Where Is The Love", a duet also featuring Amel Larrieux.
Glenn left Epic Records in 2005, and is currently signed to Underdog Entertainment. According to Glenn's MySpace page, a new album, Remember Me, will see release in the spring of 2007.

Take Me
Glenn Lewis Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
When while out one night with friends
That I saw her there
She was just standing there
Something in her distant stare
A faint look of despair
To her I was drawnAsked her was anything wrong
I told her my name
Said how you do
'Bouts to say you take care
It was nice to meet you
Then she stopped me desperately
As if to say don't go, but then she said to me
"Anywhere, you wanna go
Just take me, take me"
"Anywhere, you wanna go
Just take me, take me"
Not knowing what to say
But I could see
She was going thru some things
And needed someone to be
There to listen, probably wishing
She was someone else
And in my heart felt bad
And I just knew I had
'Cause I'd want the same myself
So we got into itAnd while she talked I thought to myself
How could it be
That she'd have no one, not even a friend to come
And she'd have to turn to me and say
"Anywhere, you wanna go
Just take me, take me"
"Anywhere, you wanna go
Just take me, take me"
Seeking the wrong kind of attention
Always in abusive situations
And don't know how she got it good
Was starting to sound like it could be
The reason for misery
Slowly I could see
She had problems nothing
I or anyone could say or do
Would help what she was going thru
Then suddenly, she stood up across from me
And as loud as she could be, screaming out
"Some one help me please"
Realizing she was gone wishing I'd mind my own saying
Take me an-nywhere but here
She's crazy, crazy
Take me an-nywhere but here
She's crazy, crazy
Take me an-nywhere but here
She's crazy, crazy
Take me an-nywhere but here
She's crazy, crazy
Take me an-nywhere but here
She's crazy, crazy
The song "Take Me" by Glenn Lewis narrates the story of the singer meeting a girl in November while out one night with his friends. Seeing her distant stare and faint look of despair, he approaches her and introduces himself. Although he initially plans to briefly greet her and move on, she stops him desperately, asking him to take her anywhere he wants to go. As she continues to open up about her problems, the singer realizes that she is seeking the wrong kind of attention and is always in abusive situations. He feels bad for her and understands that he could've easily been in her position, asking for someone to take him away. However, as her problems continue to escalate, she suddenly stands up and screams out for help, and the singer realizes that she may be gone and tries to distance himself, ultimately referring to her as "crazy."
The lyrics of the song are emotional and raw, expressing the pain and suffering of someone in a difficult situation, seeking solace in the company of someone they just met. The singer's compassion and desire to help are evident throughout the song, but ultimately, he realizes that he may not be able to do much to change her situation.
