The trio consisted of Pam Berry (Black Tambourine and Belmondo), Dan Searing (The Castaway People, Whorl, The Saturday People) and Terry Banks (The Saturday People and Tree Fort Angst). Their first release was Glo Worm EP put out on Somersault Records in 1994. They followed up in 1995 with Travelogue [IPU-063], a single put out by K Records as part of the International Pop Underground Series. That same year Glo-Worm released Wishing Well, another single but this time put out by Slumberland Records. In 1996, after the members decided to call it quits, K Records got together all their odds and ends and concluded the Glo-Worm story with a CD compilation Glimmer [KLP054]. All members are still making music today.
Review from AMG:
Pam Barry, whose many activities include co-editing Chickfactor magazine and singing in the bands Black Tambourine and Belmondo, is the vocalist for the charming pop trio Glo-Worm. Glimmer collects the band's various 7" singles and compilation contributions, including a cover of "Friday I'm in Love" from a Cure tribute album. Glo-Worm's light, strummy bubblegum is comparable to Courtney Love (the band, not the person), or -- going back even farther in the pop tradition -- Patience & Prudence, the whispery sister duo of the '50s. That this appealing, accessible, and very traditional pop music was considered alternative says something about the marketing of music in the '90s. In any case, Glimmer is a pleasant and breezy must-have for devotees of twee pop.

Oh the 80's! When toys were "unsafe" but kids were not dumb enough to eat them.

i can't believe gamester81 did a review of this thing. in hindsight the most unsafe thing about it all was bad parenting. don't pay attention to yer kids just shove plastic their way. we say how that turned out around 2010 with the neckbeard millenials they were all peter pans. even as gen x i knew pretty well how the "unsafe" baby boomers were in my development too.

Man that brings back memories. I used to sleep with a glow worm just like that when I was a little kid. Never tried to hit my brother with it or anything, guess I could've.

I'm a huge fan of the GloWorm!

I recently found out these are out again, so we just got one.
I guess the head is harder but I didn't think about anyone harming themselves...gods the world is going insane, right? LOL. I can feel the battery box inside but like I guess it's padded enough. I mean any psycho kid could probably do something with it but yeah, many other toys are far harder...LOL.
Great review. We just did ours and it plays music, I think it looks similar but it does sound different, tried to get one with the most old school look. It came out in 2018.

We had a glo worm as children in the early 80's. We didn't hurt ourselves because we didn't hit people with it !! A great trip down memory lane β£οΈ

Glow worm was awesome. We survived, including the weapon club inside. π
