Globus is a colossal band creating a blend of dramatic & cinematic music fused with classic rock & pop, amongst other elements.
Globus preformed a live concert in Santa Monica, California, on June 27th. Trailer Music Live, included Globus songs, and Immediate songs. More info can be found here: www.trailermusiclive.com
The core of Globus is essentially a classic rock band, fronted by 24 year old Surrey based Dann Pursey, and featuring Skunk Anansie and Feeder drummer Mark Richardson and Manic Street Preachers’ keyboardist Nick Naysmith.
Globus performed a hugely successful ‘test’ concert last summer at Wembley. As one of the production managers said, “We’ve done rock bands, we’ve done orchestras, we’ve done choirs….but this was the first time that we’d ever had them all in one enormous show!” A TV special and DVD that captured that incredible show is in the works.
Globus has full-length releases on Imperativa Records.

Elegy
Globus Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Could plainly tell the trees from wood
You knew to part the wrong from right
To coax the darkness into light
You took me in when hope was lost
You paid with no regard for cost
You gave your time, you always found
You never broke, you always healed
And favored need above appeal
You came, you saw, you mended foes
An altruistic dynamo
Now this endless elegy
It sings to you
My tormented memory
It yearns for
You never sold what can't be bought
Your majesty just can't be taught
You always stood on moral ground
Provided hope when none was found
You always gave with pure intent
Regardless of the money spent
You propped me up on broken feet
And spread my wings so they could beat
And now this endless elegy
It breaks my heart
Your eternal memory
Tears me apart
In your mourning
Feel my wind blowing down
My love shines
Through the light of your darkness
And now this endless elegy
It praises you, it sings for you
Never ending memory
It yearns for you, it lives for you
You soldier on, you don't give in
Keep pushing water up a hill
You brought this heart back from the brink
And gave this thirsty soul a drink
From dust to dust, we live, we die
Before we've grown we're out of time
And now you're gone while justice cries
I bury you with no goodbyes
God has let you down
God has let you down
God has let you down
And now this endless elegy
God has let you down
Never ending memory
And now this endless elegy
Your eternal memory
The lyrics of "Elegy" by Globus pay tribute to someone who was an exceptional human being. The person being mourned in the song is someone who was always honorable and could distinguish right from wrong. This person provided an unwavering moral compass for the singer and others around them. They were a caregiver who gave generously of their time and resources to help others in need. They were a peacemaker who mended relationships instead of breaking them. Their altruistic nature and pure intentions made them an inspiration to those around them.
Despite the goodness and morality of this person, they were not spared from death. The singer sings an "endless elegy" in their memory, celebrating their life and legacy. The loss of this person has left a conspicuous hole in the singer's life, and the lyrics reflect their heartbreak and longing for their mentor, with the refrain "Never-ending memory, yearns for you, lives for you."
Overall, "Elegy" is a testament to the power of compassion, sacrifice, and selflessness. The song reminds us that even when we pass on, the goodness and love we generated in our lives continue to live on through the people whose lives we touched.

WHAT a SONG! Totally revised my opinion on "Break From This World" tonight. And Barbossa, your fade to white was PERFECT.

I think there is intentional irony in this song. The song is called Elegy (a poem/song dedicated to someone's death), and the lyrics of Hanifl's vocals are depressing, and even goes as far to say "God has let you down". The irony is that this song without lyrics is such an uplifting song that I feel the sensation of triumph/acceptance/rest, and also the female vocals/lyrics in the middle of the song are very encouraging and positive compared to everything else, and is most likely the voice of the person this Elegy is dedicated too. It really shows how we deal with death, with the ultimate result being acceptance (which leads to rest and triumph) in one's life.

Not so easy to understand the meaning, but absolutely magnificent for me. I dont know, perhaps my favorite sond at the moment. So perfectly composed, it inspires me so fully, it is like crying and loughing at the same moment. Thank you

I so want to love this song! But yeah a agree with you guys! It is so rare to have a song with such a beautiful melody and I can admire the Lyrics but at the same time I don't like anything depressing. Why couldn't this song have been about Jesus!! Such a shame! Kind of reminds me of the song "Hallelujah" beautiful melody but mocks God. Still gave it a thumbs up though.
