Emergency paging Doctor Beat, emergency

Doctor I've got this feelin'
Deep inside of me, deep inside of me
I just can't control my feet
When I hear the beat, when I hear the beat

Hey Doctor could you give me somethin'
To ease the pain, to ease the pain
'Cause if you don't help me soon
Gonna lose my brain, gonna go insane

I just don't know, don't know
How I'm gonna deal with you
Doc, doc, doc, doc, Doctor Beat
I just don't know, don't know

Won't you help me Doctor Beat?
Doc, doc, doc, doc, Doctor Beat

Overall Meaning

The song "Dr. Beat" by Gloria Estefan and Miami Sound Machine is a disco classic that revolves around the story of someone who is completely engrossed by a particular kind of music. The singer is in love with the rhythm of music and can't help but dance to it. He visits Dr. Beat, the fictional doctor, because he is worried about his uncontrollable and overwhelming addiction to music. He feels there is some feverish energy building up inside him that he can’t contain, and he needs help or it will drive him insane. The person, in this case, is experiencing something more than just a physical need - this is a feeling he can't explain. The song, with its infectious groove and catchy lyrics, is an ode to the power of rhythm and the magic of music.

The lyrics are interesting in the way they have effectively personified music, as though it is a character or a force that has taken control of the singer's mind and body. The song, written by keyboardist and producer Enrique "Kiki" Garcia, was a major hit in the clubs, and it has since become a party favorite all over the world. "Dr. Beat" highlights the significance of a good beat to keep one moving and grooving. The song has been compared to the rise of electronic dance music (EDM) and its role in club culture.

We never realised just how good the 80s were until they were gone. At least the music lives on.

Wow...I came here after watching Griselda. .. reminds me of my late uncle...he used to play this songs when I was a little boy. He loved life and lived the best of his youth. Sadly we lost him in 2022 due to diabetes. He was 62 years old. So I bet in the 80s he was in his 20s and living the best of his youth.
