Their album "Ridin' the Tiger" in 1997, released on the White Jazz record label, marked a significant breakthrough both artistically and commercially, positioning them among the leaders of the Scandinavian hard rock movement. "Basement Apes," their fourth album, signed with Sony Music, and "Automatic Thrill" became their best-selling record.
Gluecifer performed at notable events such as the 2004 Quart Festival, opening for Monster Magnet. However, the band announced their breakup in July 2005, despite being considered one of Norway's successful rock bands. Their impact extended beyond music, with contributions to the Norwegian film "Izzat," featuring their song "Desolate City" on the 2008 compilation album "Kings of Rock - Best Of And Rarities."
Following the breakup, members pursued individual projects, including Captain Poon forming the band Bloodlights in 2006. Gluecifer's music was also featured in the soundtrack of the film "The Social Network" with the song "Black Book Lodge." In 2015, Gluecifer's studio albums were re-released on Captain Poon's label, Konkurs Productions. The following year, Captain Poon toured as the guitarist for Marky Ramone's Blitzkrieg. In 2017, Gluecifer reunited for several festival appearances in 2018 and reunion shows in Oslo.

And they know what to do
They're gonna hang out on the corner
They mean shit
It?s gonna be a long, long Friday
And we?ll be rolling up the sleeves
Kicking dirt around the sidewalks
I think we're goin' round
To a revved up sound
we're goin' round and round and round
We're goin' round and round
We're goin' round and round and round
And it?s never getting better
Come on and knock me down, to get me back on my feet
Kick that can right over, baby, down here on the street
Pass that bottle to me brother give me what you got
I am sorry, what I said about your mother, oh no, I'm not
we're goin' round and round and round
We're goin' round and round
We're goin' round and round and round
And it?s never getting better
All we ever hear is the same old sound
We're goin' round and round and round
But we're doing it together
we're goin' round and round and round
We're goin' round and round
We're goin' round and round and round
And it?s never getting better
All we ever hear is the same old sound
We're goin' round and round and round
But we're doing it together
we're goin' round and round and round
We're goin' round and round
We're goin' round and round and round
And it?s never getting better
All we ever hear is the same old sound
We're goin' round and round and round
But we're doing it together
The song "Round and Round" by Gluecifer is an upbeat and energetic tune that talks about the joys of spending time with friends and engaging in various activities. The lyrics portray a group of friends who are getting together to kick back, have some fun and wait for their luck to change. It’s clear that these individuals are not exactly thriving, but they take comfort in being around each other and in the familiarity of what they know.
The repeated line "we're goin' round and round and round" seems to suggest that nothing is really changing in their lives. The monotony of their days is almost comforting, as it provides a sense of stability and togetherness. The fact that the group is doing it together is emphasized several times, which reinforces the idea of camaraderie and the power of friendship.
Lyrically, the song also touches on themes of forgiveness, admitting wrong-doings, and taking responsibility for one's actions. The bridge of the song talks about knocking someone down to get them back on their feet and apologizing for things said in the heat of the moment. This further emphasizes the theme of togetherness and the importance of having people who will support you through thick and thin.
Overall, the song "Round and Round" is a fun and lively tune that celebrates the power of friendship and the importance of having people who will stand by you even in tough times.
