Something's Wrong
Gob & Another Joe Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

If your whole kind was dying off
You would make the appropriate changes
To prolong your days
It would open your eyes

Proving that you're not blind
But with your head stuck in your ass
Well, you just won't know
There's something wrong with the world today

There's something wrong with the world
There's something wrong with the world I'd say
It's not like it's one
It's the majority of the population

That share this ignorance
You've got to go outside and realize

That you're not the only one
And then you just might care

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Gob & Another Joe's song Something's Wrong speak to the importance of recognizing and addressing the problems in the world today, particularly regarding the way in which we treat the planet and its inhabitants. The lyrics emphasize the idea that if faced with the prospect of their own extinction, humans would take action to prevent it. However, many people seem to be unaware or apathetic to the fact that the world is currently facing a crisis, and that we need to make changes in order to prevent further damage.

The lyrics also suggest that this ignorance is widespread, and that many people are too focused on their own lives and problems to pay attention to the bigger picture. The line, "You've got to go outside and realize that you're not the only one" speaks to the need for people to broaden their perspectives and look beyond their own immediate concerns.

Overall, the lyrics suggest that the problems facing the world require collective action and a shift in mindset, and that individuals need to take responsibility for their role in creating and perpetuating these problems.
