They are perhaps best known for performing the song "Monkey Magic" for the 1978 television series "Saiyūki," which was brought over to the United Kingdom as "Monkey." This led to several releases through BBC Records, including "Monkey Magic," "Gandhara," and the LP "Monkey," which charted in the UK. Godiego are also noteworthy for performing the theme song "Galaxy Express 999" (Three-Nine) for the animated movie, and for the soundtrack to the 1977 Nobuhiko Obayashi film "House," in which they also appear in a brief cameo.
They were the first rock band to play in the People's Republic of China as well as Nepal.
Flying
Godiego Lyrics

Flying till I've left the world behind
The world is getting smaller down below
I like the view the further up I go,
Up on my cloud
(*) Takin' it easy
I'm only out for a little fun
Takin' it easy
Flying on my silvery cloud
Far above the green and blue
There's a lot of trouble and I see down below
But I think I'll stay for a little while more,
Up on my cloud
* repeat three times
In Godiego's song Flying, the lyrics describe the feeling of liberation and escapism that comes with being on a cloud, flying high above the world. The lyrics suggest a sense of detachment from the troubles and worries of the world below, while reveling in the joy of simply being in the moment and enjoying the view. The repeated phrase "Takin' it easy" suggests a laid-back, carefree attitude that is reinforced by the playful melody of the song.
The first lines of the song ("Flying on my cloud to freedom / Flying till I've left the world behind") set the tone for the rest of the song, suggesting a desire for escape and a longing for a sense of freedom that can only be achieved by taking to the skies. The second stanza ("Up on my cloud / Takin' it easy / I'm only out for a little fun / Takin' it easy / I need a holiday like everyone") reinforces this idea, suggesting that the singer is taking a break from the stresses and responsibilities of everyday life in order to indulge in a bit of fun and relaxation.
The final stanza ("Flying on my silvery cloud / Far above the green and blue / There's a lot of trouble and I see down below / But I think I'll stay for a little while more / Up on my cloud") is the most poignant, as it suggests that even though the singer is aware of the troubles that exist in the world below, they are content to stay on their cloud for a little while longer, enjoying the freedom and peace that comes with being so high above it all.
Overall, the song Flying is a lighthearted, upbeat tribute to the joy of being free and escaping the troubles of everyday life. Its playful melody and carefree lyrics suggest a desire to let go and immerse oneself in the moment, while also acknowledging the importance of taking a break from the stresses of the world below.
