Nichts bleibt wie es war
Goethes Erben Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Ein Vogel fliegt vorbei
2500 Fuß
Etwas fällt
Himmelblau
In Zeitlupe
Lieblich und friedlich
Alles in Zeitlupe
2000 Fuß
Eine Stadt
Sekunden werden Minuten
Die Zeit wartet
Tick tack tick tack
Sie fällt

1500 Fuß
Zwei Menschen
Ein letzter Kuß
Zündung

Now
Nicht atmen
Ein Farbenspiel
Ein greller Blitz
Alles vergessen
Tausend Seelenfackeln
Die Hitzewelle
Tödlich glutheiß
Ein Atemzug
Ein heißer Atemzug
Giert nach

Stille
Es scheint die Erde bebt
Ganz langsam
Ganz taub
Alles geschmolzen
Die Zeit stolpert bleibt kurz stehen

Ein Haus
Ein Paar im Tod vereint
Verkohlt
Ein Schrei betäubt
Stürzt ins Dunkel
Tick tack tick tack

Now!
Shockwaved
Nichts bleibt wie es war
Geschoße aus Steine
Und Hagel aus Glas
Zerschneiden durchbohren
Häuser stürzen
Begraben was war
Begraben was war

Stille
Schwarze Wolken
Vergangenheit und Gegenwart
Zersetzen sich
Keine Worte
Keine Stimme
Und kein Wissen
Die Zukunft fehlt…

Now!
Ein Feuersturm
Alles brennt
Selbst was nicht brennen dürfte
Es brennt
Ein Glück zu sterben
Die Fratze des Teufels
Die Macht der Menschlichkeit
Ist jetzt vorbei

Now!
Shockwaved
Nichts bleibt wie es war
Geschosse aus Steine
Und Hagel aus Glas
Zerschneiden durchbohren
Häuser stürzen
Begraben was war
Begraben was war

Stille

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Goethes Erben's song "Nichts bleibt wie es war" tell a story of destruction, loss, and chaos, set against a backdrop of time and space. The first stanza sets the scene with a bird flying by at 2500 feet, followed by something falling in slow motion with a peaceful calmness. As the bird flies lower, the scene changes to a city where seconds become minutes and time seems to slow down, leading to an inevitable fall. In the next stanza, two people share a final kiss, leading to an explosion that wipes away everything in its path, leaving behind nothing but silence and devastation. The third stanza portrays the aftermath of destruction, where the earth itself seems to tremble and time becomes distorted.

The fourth stanza takes a turn towards personal tragedy as a couple is united in death, burned and screaming as they fall into darkness. Time ticks on, leading to the final chorus where the apocalypse has taken over, with stones and glass raining down and destroying everything in their path. The song ends with an eerie silence, a reminder that nothing remains the same.

Overall, the song can be interpreted as a commentary on the fragility of human existence, the inevitability of change, and the consequences of our actions. It is a somber and philosophical examination of loss and tragedy that asks the listener to confront their own mortality and the fleeting nature of life.
