1- Oberlin, OH's Golden. It came together in 1993 with Ian Eagleson (guitar/vocals), Alex Minoff (guitar/vocals), Philip Manley (bass), and Jon Theodore (drums) while attending a local city college. In between studying overseas and various side projects, Golden managed to keep it together. The band's first recordings were two math rockish singles on Harrisburg, PA's Proteen Records. An eponymous album appeared in 1998 on TransSolar; Super Golden Original Movement followed the next year, while the cool pop swirl of Golden Summer was issued in 2000. During this time, Manley was working with Trans Am while Theodore toured with the likes of Royal Trux, Palace, and the Mars Volta. Minoff recorded with Rhode Island's Six Finger Satellite and Weird War and Eagleson worked on a PhD in ethnomusicology. Several EPs followed into the new millennium, but Golden put everything aside in 2002 to focus on their fourth album, Apollo Stars.
2- Canny Golden, Celina Nash and Lucy Golden were a UK indie/synth-pop trio signed to Saint Etienne's Icerink label. They released two singles between 1992-93; 'Anglo American/Don't Destroy Me' (1992) and 'Wishful Thinking' (1993), and appeared on the label sampler 'We Are Icerink', with label mates Shampoo, Earl Brutus and Oval., in 1994. 'Wishful Thinking' was written for the band by Jarvis Cocker, ex-Pulp. The trio disbanded when icerink closed for business in 1994.
3- Twin Cities based rapper Golden. Golden's debut solo album Peddling Machine was released by FreeFlo Records in 2007.
4- Golden is also the stage name of Golden Preciado, part of the outreach at Calvary Chapel, Costa Mesa
5- From Tokyo, Japan... released by Seattle label, Tsurumi Records "This trio melds guitar, drums, and mandolin into an incredible mix of classical Japanese, sea shanty, and rock with dark country western undertone. The slashing slide guitar suggests Americana, but the end result takes you to a far weirder and edgier place."
6 - From Minneapolis Minnesota, Golden is a alternative rock group comprised of Derek Johnson and Ryan Wickard previously from Take Cover, and Will Caesar from Quietdrive.
7 - Kim Ji-hyun (김지현; born June 16, 1988) better known by the stage name Golden (formerly known as G.Soul) is a South Korean singer under H1GHR MUSIC.

This judge, got no compassion
Witness, show me your right hand
I swear, nothing but the truth now
I was alright 'til she came along
I was alright, then it all went wrong
It was the act of a man possessed now (oh, oh, oh, oh)
Yeah, the devil made me do it (oh, oh, oh, oh)
Your honor, I plead innocent
D.A.'s, got a mighty strong case
Lawman, saw the whole thing
Confess, yeah, I stole that fur coat
Confess, I stole a BMW
Confess, I was only trying, to keep my baby satisfied
Bullshit, that's the truth now
Bullshit, so help me God
I was alright 'til she came along
I was alright, then it all went wrong
Yeah, the devil made me do it (oh, oh, oh, oh)
It was the act of a man possessed now (oh, oh, oh, oh)
Yeah, the devil made me do it (oh, oh, oh, oh)
Your honor, I am innocent (oh, oh, oh, oh)
Innocent (oh, oh, oh, oh)
See her slide out of her negligee
Her skin was hot, touch intoxicating
And if you were me, you would have done the same
So spare me the gutter, save me from the ball and chain
The devil made me do it (oh, oh, oh, oh)
It was the act of a man possessed now (oh, oh, oh, oh)
Yeah, the devil made me do it (oh, oh, oh, oh)
Your honor, I am innocent (oh, oh, oh, oh)
Innocent
Yeah, the devil made me do it (oh, oh, oh, oh)
It was an act of self defense now (oh, oh, oh, oh)
Yeah, the devil made me do it (oh, oh, oh, oh)
Your honor, it was an accident (oh, oh, oh, oh)
The devil made me do it (oh, oh, oh, oh)
The first verse sets the scene for the song, as the court is in session, and the judge seems to have no compassion. The witness is asked to swear on the bible that they are telling the truth. The second verse is where the singer begins the justification for their actions. They claim they were alright until a woman came into their life and things started to go wrong. The chorus repeats the phrase, "the devil made me do it" as the singer claims they didn't have control over their actions.
In the third verse, the singer claims the district attorney has a strong case against them, and even confesses to stealing a fur coat and a BMW. However, they also claim that they were only doing it to keep their significant other satisfied. The singer then declares their innocence and swears to tell the truth. The fourth verse is where the singer attempts to justify their actions further, claiming that if someone was in their position, they would have done the same thing. They then beg for mercy and a lesser punishment.
The lyrics of the song could be interpreted as a metaphor for the way people try to justify their actions to avoid punishment. It could also be seen as an expression of the idea that people are not always in control of their actions, and external forces can make them do things they wouldn't normally.
