1. An electronic/nu jazz duo from South Africa
2. An alternative rock band from Germany
3. A rock band from Canada
4. An indie jazz band from Japan
1. Goldfish is a live electronic act from Cape Town, South Africa. The two members Dominic Peters and David Poole are jazz musicians who met while studying music at university. They recorded their first album - ''Caught in the Loop'' - themselves, with little more than a double bass, a saxophone and a couple of synths. This self-released album led to a cult following and numerous hits in their home country, where they have been voted best live act, and are known as the 'Fishies' to their fans.
Goldfish have taken their live act across the globe, including opening for Fatboy Slim, Mr Scruff, The Audio Bullys, Paul van Dyk, Pete Tong and Stereo MC's. 'Re-invention of the DJ' is a phrase that has been used to describe their combination of live instruments such as double bass, saxophones, keyboards, flute, and vocals; with samplers, effects, synths, and freeform improvisation.
Goldfish's second album was signed to Pacha. ''Perceptions of Pacha'', released at Miami's Winter Music Conference March 2008, features 10 new tracks and the international release includes a second disc with a live performance video and remixes by top DJs from around the world. The band toured the US and Europe during 2008, and held a 4 month Friday night summer residency at super-club Pacha Ibiza.
Their website is www.goldfishlive.com.
2. The second Goldfish is located in Berlin/Germany. Their style is most likely labeled as "Alternative" - the influences reach from Eels, Breeders, Wipers and PJ Harvey up to Portisheadā¦
The five members Danuta (Git./Voc.), Lutz (Bass), Benni (Key.), Marcin (Drums) and Tilman (Git./Perc.) stick together since Feb. 2012, the origin Goldfishes (with Benni and Danuta) recorded the debut-album "'coming home" already in 2008 - on Steve Morells Label āPale Musicā.
Goldfish's sound by the way convinced the well known producers Thomas Stern and Olsen Involtini. While Stern, former member of āCrime & the City Solutionā and producer of Meret Becker and Katharina Franck, picked up his bass again for some songs, Olsen (āSeeedā, Peter Fox, Bela B.) made a beautiful mixdown of Goldfish's āCarry Your Nameā.

3. There was also a third band called Goldfish. Based in Montreal, they put a few singles in the mid-1990s including "The Ride"/"Swallow" and "Condor"/"Fondly". Singer Carrie Haber went on to join groups including Quinimine.
4. There is an indie jazz band in Japan called GoldFish. Official website here.
Cruising Through
Goldfish Lyrics

This is music that's been travelling light-years to brace your beards.
We're just cruising.
I'm just thinking to myself.
You know there is no one here to help.
I try thinking a plan up by my own.
But I could never fix this all alone
If you never do a thing
(We're just cruising).
There is always something you can bring
(We're just cruising).
If you can't look at the king
(We're just cruising).
That's right, we're just cruising through.
You give a lot of love, but you don't know why.
The revolution stops if you walk on by.
You give a lot of love, it will get you high.
But talk is not enough, you believe the lie.
You give a lot of love, but you don't know why.
The revolution stops if you walk on by.
You give a lot of love, it will get you high.
But talk is not enough, you believe the lie.
Come on, stand up, get involved.
Everyone together, problem solved.
But if you, if you stay there on your own.
You know, it's cold and lonely in the drone
(We're just cruising).
We just keep cruising through
(We're just cruising).
That's all you'll ever see me do
(We're just cruising).
You got you're little picket fence
(We're just cruising).
But it won't come to your defense
(We're just cruising).
And when the water starts to rise
(We're just cruising).
And now you're acting all surprised
(We're just cruising).
That's right, we're just cruising through.
You give a lot of love, but you don't know why.
The revolution stops if you walk on by.
You give a lot of love, it will get you high.
But talk is not enough, you believe the lie.
You give a lot of love, but you don't know why.
The revolution stops if you walk on by.
You give a lot of love, it will get you high.
But talk is not enough, you believe the lie.
We're just cruising
We're just cruising
We're just cruising
We're just cruising
We're just cruising
We're just seven years beyond 2000 years we're just cruising.
This is music that's been travelling light-years to brace your beards.
We're just cruising.
You give a lot of love, but you don't know why.

The lyrics to Goldfish's song "Cruising Through" are a commentary on the state of the world and humanity's place in it. The title "Cruising Through" speaks to the idea that we are just going through the motions, cruising through life without really making an impact or doing anything to change the world. The opening lines "Seven years beyond 2000 years we're just cruising" suggest that despite all of the advancements we have made as a society, we still haven't figured out how to make a real difference.
The statement "This is music that's been travelling light-years to brace your beards" seems to suggest that the music itself has a higher purpose, that it has been created to wake people up and get them to take action. The call to action "Come on, stand up, get involved. Everyone together, problem solved" seems to suggest that we need to work together to solve the world's problems and create a better future.
The repetition of the line "You give a lot of love, but you don't know why. The revolution stops if you walk on by. You give a lot of love, it will get you high. But talk is not enough, you believe the lie" seems to suggest that love alone is not enough to make a difference, that we must take action and do something to create change. The "lie" that is being referred to is likely the idea that our small individual actions don't matter in the grand scheme of things.
Overall, the lyrics to "Cruising Through" are a call to action, urging listeners to wake up and take an active role in creating a better world. The song suggests that love alone is not enough, and that we must take action to create real change.
