Despite favourable reviews and a short-listing for the Mercury Prize, the début studio album Felt Mountain did not chart highly. Goldfrapp's second album Black Cherry, which incorporated glam rock and synthpop sounds, was released in 2003. The album influenced the same dance-oriented sound of their third album Supernature. Supernature took Goldfrapp's work further into dance music, and enjoyed international chart success. The album produced three number-one US dance singles, and was nominated for Best Electronic/Dance Album at the 49th Grammy Awards.

The fourth album Seventh Tree placed a greater emphasis on ambient and downtempo music, drawing inspiration from nature and paganism, while their fifth album, Head First, found the group exploring 1980s-influenced synthpop. Head First also earned the second Grammy Award nomination for Best Electronic/Dance Album in 2010. Goldfrapp released their critically acclaimed sixth studio album, the folktronica-influenced Tales of Us, in September 2013. Goldfrapp released their seventh studio album, Silver Eye, in March 2017, which debuted at number six on the UK Albums Chart.

I remember this song from when I was a kid, I was still in School then when this song came out. Such an amazing song really love the wavyness and how it sounds. 😄😀. I think this is by far the best song I have ever heard. 😄😀.

So I'm at an estate sale a couple days back and I pluck out Goldfrapp Ride a White Horse Single CD. I thought awesome... der ummm is this the song with lyrics that go something like..."well if you wanna ride, then ride the white horse from the 80s"? Nope. I ended up buying all 1,000 CDs, and have about a dozen Goldfrapp CDs. Now I can't stop listening to their music.

Some really fantastic and grotesque imagery of filth, rot and decay. A surprisingly funny video with a really subtle humour. The stuff with the people who emerge from the bin and her fascination and sexual bodily coordination with them is brilliant. Fabulous grotesque curious stuff

I recall going to a store in Portland to buy a physical copy of this album the day it was released. I was so excited.
Yet somehow, despite listening to it A LOT back then, I'd forgotten about Fly Me Away until a week ago. I don't know how!
Now, I'm living back where I was born (Hawai'i) and the song is still wonderful but it also makes me sad and wistful. Jumping on a plane, on a whim, to see someone isn't just something I can do anymore, and I don't expect to be able to (or at least be able to do safely) for a long time.
