Goldfrapp Lyrics

Eyes strong as steal
Light as day
Born a mystery
You're the in between
Boy or girl
Fire rushes through
Every vein
With a smile that sings
You'll be killing me tenderly
Every word is soft as fur
I'm drifting deep deeper in
Stranger, will you remember
Stranger, make me remember you
Taken by the crowd a tide
It's there then gone do or die
Stranger, I dream of you and
Stranger, I will never know
The song Stranger by Goldfrapp is a haunting and mysterious melody that describes the relationship between the singer and an enigmatic figure who is both captivating and confusing. In the first verse, the singer describes the stranger's gaze as being "strong as steal" yet "light as day," which suggests that this person has a powerful presence but also a softness and vulnerability. The second line describes the stranger as a "born mystery," which implies that they are enigmatic and difficult to understand.
The chorus introduces the paradoxical nature of the stranger's character, describing them as "wilder than I've known before" and possessing a smile that is both inviting and dangerous, promising to "kill me tenderly." The lyrics then shift to describe the stranger's voice as being "soft as fur," pulling the singer deeper into their mysterious world.
The second verse contains a plea for the stranger to remember the singer, followed by a description of the overwhelming nature of their connection. The final lines of the song express the singer's yearning for the stranger despite the fact that they will never truly know them.
Overall, the song paints a picture of a complex and fascinating individual who simultaneously draws the singer in and remains elusive and enigmatic.

@brianmchugh3757
Absolutely. I can’t think of another artist or band that has so many songs that exist in their catalogue that is tailored made to open a Bond movie. It seems so obvious, particularly that Goldfrapp can craft songs in a variety of genres.
