The fourth album Seventh Tree placed a greater emphasis on ambient and downtempo music, drawing inspiration from nature and paganism, while their fifth album, Head First, found the group exploring 1980s-influenced synthpop. Head First also earned the second Grammy Award nomination for Best Electronic/Dance Album in 2010. Goldfrapp released their critically acclaimed sixth studio album, the folktronica-influenced Tales of Us, in September 2013. Goldfrapp released their seventh studio album, Silver Eye, in March 2017, which debuted at number six on the UK Albums Chart.

Carried on their tales the tide
Sailing on the seven seas
Suns & seven winds were we blinded
Take me where the camphor grows
Where the moon and freedom sigh
Caribou are crossing out
Sailors sail on all night all day
I'm not lost I'm wandering your way
I know you're waiting
Carry me there
Float on glass a mirror hot
With the universe above
Try to find a line connect
With a world that make no sense
I've a feeling
Stream you babble in a rush
Busy river flow and wind
Always ask the lake it knows
Always ask the lake you'll get all the answers
Sailors sail on all night all day
I'm not lost I'm wandering your way
I know you're waiting
Carry me there
The lyrics in Goldfrapp's song Ulla carry the listener away to a magical and surreal realm. The opening line, "Swirling horses throw you high," sets the tone for an otherworldly experience. The song describes sailing on the seven seas, being blinded by the sun and seven winds, and being carried by tales and tides. The lyrics evoke a sense of freedom, adventure, and spiritual exploration.
The chorus repeats the phrase "Sailors sail on all night, all day," expressing the desire to keep going and to never stop exploring. The singer acknowledges that they are not lost but just wandering their way towards someone who is waiting for them. The desire for connection and finding a sense of purpose is strong, and the singer longs for someone to "carry me there."
The second half of the song turns to a more contemplative tone. The lyrics invite the listener to float on a glass, mirror-like surface while trying to find a connection to a world that doesn't always make sense. The lyrics describe a babbling stream, a busy river flow, and the wind, alluding to the power of nature and its ability to provide answers - reminding the listener that sometimes, the answers we seek are right in front of us.

The lyrics to this song really are very beautiful, some of her best.
Swirling Horses throw you high,
Carried on their tales the tide,
Sailing on the seven seas,
Seven suns and seven winds were we blinded?
Take me where the camphor grows,
Where the moon and freedom sigh,
Caribou are crossing out,
Malting elk and where we found you a sun shade.
Sailors sail on all night all day,
I'm not lost I'm wondering your way.
I know you're waiting,
Carry me there.

Unfortunately songs with this kind of quiet, evocative beauty tend to get overlooked, but I think it's stunning. One of the best songs on one of Goldfrapp's best albums.
