Their full-length debut, Tally Of The Yes Men, is a melding of decades of rock and pop influences with the melodic sensibilities of old Indian film music.
Siddhartha (founder, lead singer / songwriter of Goldspot) is quick to pay tribute to his early influences: "I grew up listening to whatever my parents had in their cassette decks - Mohd. Rafi, Kishore Kumar, Mukesh - these were great Indian playback singers from the 1940's and 50's. The melodies were brilliant. And then one day when I was 14, I figured out that if you flipped the switch on the stereo from 'tape' to 'radio' you could hear music with English words. That's when I heard R.E.M.'s Green, and it was my first introduction to Western music."
Goldspot thrives on Siddhartha's creative chemistry with drummer and co-writer Ramy Antoun. "Sid would come to me with demos of the songs that he had recorded in his apartment, and we would finish them together." "We both have similar backgrounds," notes Siddhartha, referring to his Indian upbringing and Ramy's formative years in Egypt. "There's a lot of connection on that level," confirms Ramy.

Goldspot's song "Rewind" is a fun, upbeat dance track that celebrates the power of the DJ and the energy of the dance floor. The lyrics describe the experience of dancing hard to the music and getting lost in the moment, with the DJ as the master of ceremonies who can control the crowd's excitement with his selections. The chorus repeats the phrase "re-rewind" when the crowd says "Bo Selecta," which means to play a track again from the beginning, as a way of emphasizing the enthusiasm of the listeners.
The verses feature the rapped vocals of MC Neat and the smooth vocals of Craig David, both famous artists in the UK garage and R&B scene. They describe the scene of the dance floor, with people moving and grooving to the music, and the importance of the DJ in keeping the party going. The song has a timeless quality that captures the essence of the early 2000s garage era, with sharp synths, funky beats, and catchy hooks.
Overall, "Rewind" is a classic party anthem that celebrates the joy of dancing and the power of music to bring people together. It is a tribute to the art of DJing and the energy of the club scene, and its catchy hooks and infectious beats make it a perennial favorite for dance parties and celebrations.

I'm asking you to stay, the words are finally here
Let's rewind and rewind
You see, you're the only star in the film I've never made
Would you rewind it all the time, rewind it all the time
In the driveway I see you pull in
And my heart stops when you're stalling
As if the phone rang and he's calling and you're backing up
And it's a long way out
I'm asking you to stay, the words are finally here
Let's rewind, would you rewind it all the time
See, you're the only star in the film I've never made
Would you rewind it all the time, rewind it all the time
Do we make it to the sequel?
A second chance for our survival
We all need a hallmark ending
And a change of heart, but it's a long way back, back to what you said
It's weighing on my mind
It's weighing on my mind
It's weighing on my mind
Would you rewind it all the time, rewind it all the time
I'm asking you to stay, the words are finally here
Let's rewind, would you rewind it all the time
You're the only star in the film I've never made
Would you rewind
Would you rewind it all the time...
