I'm Tryin
Gonna Get Got Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

They call me, Triple Jigga spit rhymes with vigor
And pull dime
Chicks like a trigger
Get pulled by (scratched) servicemen on Iraqi Civilians
Or by
LAPD on black street children
But fuck the LAPD let's get back to the subject
It's me
TRIP G!
I'ma tell ya little bit about myself since y'all
Contributed
To my personal wealth by buying this here CD
But if you
Downloaded it STOP…
If ya paid… LET THE BEAT DROP!
And let's continue…
See? Ya give a little get a little
Now here's a little riddle
Who's the man
Who fell in love then watched all his hopes as they fell like a dove that got
Shot out the sky
By Dick Cheney, man that guy's a dick
But don't let me
Stray see Im tryin to stay upon the subject
Though I look forward to it like a
Drug test
See I realize that what you don't heal dies and what I feel lies
Deep down where I can't get to it
I'm empty, hollow, just bones flesh,
Fluid
My hearts got a wall and I can't break through it (AWW)

See my brain
Pushed my pain down a long time ago
When I was a little boy watchin Barry
Manilow
Feelin joy and pain when he played Copacabana, yo
Now I feel nothing
Man… where did it go?
I don't know but I know I must go down below
To where
The pain lies and let the pain rise
Cause when Satan dies is when I look into
His eyes and
My damn brain cries! UH

CHORUS:
I'm Tryin hard to define
What I'm tryin hard to find
But I'm finding it hard cause' it's deep in my
Mind
And I'm sometimes scared of what I might see… UH YO
So I slide down
The vine of my mind
With the help of some weed and some wine tryin to
Find
What I'm tryin to find but sometimes I just wanna (bang!)
And be
Free…
But then I think of all the people I love and in my mind's
The picture
Of their faces as they start to bury me.. UH YO
So I go back to tryin to find
What I'm tryin hard to find
But I'm finding it hard cause it's deep in my
Mind
And I'm sometimes scared of what I might SEE SEE SEE

VERSE 2:
Uh…
Think that you can email me and get up in my face?
Back off I need my
Space
And I ain't talking bout no internet,
I'm talking bout my inner
Head
Girl I told you, my motherfuckin innards' dead
Cause' every time I try
To express myself
I had to repress myself and so distress my health
Like
When I was in Junior High
And the science teacher found my lyrics,
Thats
When the fear kicks… IN
Sin… was what I like to write about
Plus homeless
Drug addicts, bones, blood, slugs, maggots
Unleashing automatics into your
Face
Until it looked like Bob Sagets'
I imagined a world with no law or
Consequences
And thus no mental fences, just relentless, death sentences
As I
Unloaded glock after glock upon flock after flock of jock
My fear reaches into
Cheerleaders hearts
Leaving teachers buried under bleachers with broken
Parts
Images of burning flags, sperm in rags, German (scratched)
With their (scratched) in
Herman Munsters' ass
In short the typical stuff of Junior High
But my teacher
Saw it went "My oh my…
This is outrageous, we never heard a' this…
We have to
Get you right out to see a therapist
So that we can cure all of your
Psychosis…"
And I said, "Bitch you could blow this…
I'ma lean right in to
Your bad ear and say this shit
LOUD AND CLEAR:

(Repeat Chorus)

So girl
Don't cast me out I'm tryin
Don't drag me down, I'm flyin..
Don't let me
Drown throw a line
I'm tryin to get upstairs and find Zion
Not to go
Downstairs where I'd be fryin
Upstairs with Big and Pac to kick rhymes
Where
You can get yours and I can get mine
And maybe find what we tryin to find, but
Keep in mind…
There's only one person that I love
There's only one one person
That I love
No you can't know their name… Stay away
No you can't know their
Name… Stay away

Stay Away!
(Repeat Chorus)

Overall Meaning

The song "I'm Tryin" by Gonna Get Got speaks about the struggles of finding oneself and dealing with the pain and trauma that one has buried deep down in their mind. The song hints at the idea that life is a journey, and everyone has their own path to travel. The lyrics talk about Triple Jigga's inner demons, and how he needs to face his fears to move forward with his life. The chorus of the song explains that he's struggling to define what he's trying hard to find because it's buried too deep inside his mind. He's scared of what he might see once he brings it up to the surface, but he's willing to try.

Triple Jigga speaks about how he has to repress himself to protect his mental health because he's afraid of expressing his thoughts and emotions. When he was in junior high, his science teacher found his lyrics, and he was threatened to see a therapist to cure his "psychosis." The song implies that the society we live in can make it hard for one to express themselves and their feelings.

The line "There's only one person that I love, No, you can't know their name … Stay away" expresses Triple Jigga's affection and protectiveness towards a person, and he's trying to keep them and their identity safe from the world.

This gettin' up early, pullin' double shifts
Gonna make an old man of me long before I ever get rich...
But I'm tryin'
It's been two years since we've finalized
I still ain't used to puttin' ex in front of wife
But I'm tryin'
"Send more money right away" is pretty much all she has to say
When she calls these days - and don't you be late...

But all I can do, is all I can do, and I keep on tryin'
And all I can be, is all I can be and I keep on tryin'
There's always a mountain in front of me
Seems I'm always climbin' and fallin' and climbin'
But I keep on tryin'

I remember Daddy sayin' keep your eye on the ball - run like hell, play to win
Get up when you fall
I'm tryin'
Don't say nothin' that you can't take back
Never do anything you might regret
No, don't do that
Daddy, I'm tryin'
Know the difference between heaven and hell
Go easy on the bottle, be hard on yourself
And I know he meant well...

But all I can do, is all I can do, and I keep on tryin'
And all I can be, is all I can be, and I keep on tryin'
There's always a mountain in front of me
Seems I'm always climbin' and fallin' and climbin'
But I keep on tryin'

But all I can do, is all I can do, and I keep on tryin'
And all I can be, is all I can be, and I keep on tryin'...
All I can be, is all I can be, and I keep on tryin'
There's always a mountain in front of me
Seems I'm always climbin' and stumblin'
And then fallin'
And then climbin'...
But I keep on tryin'

This gettin' up early, pullin' double shifts
Gonna make an old man of me long before I ever get rich...
But I'm tryin'

Been going through this for a while now. "Actions speak louder than words." How true!

Allen Greer

This song once ripped my heart out because I was living it. Fortunately that was long ago. Eventually my kids grew up and I never lost them and I've now found the love of my life. This song reminds me of how far I've come.

@Allen Greer tough times never last like tough people do. Take care of Yourself this time. I’d advise you to watch some men’s rights people to see how things are in reality. You have your kids - possibly grandkids and 3 bonus kids -I pray that you now invest in self and take time before entering into any relationship. Blessings

James Sharp

Absolutely!

Update: Funny how things change. Six months ago and after 9 years together, that "love of my life" I mentioned had an affair, left us all when I found out and moved in with him, then sent my 3 step kids out of state to live with their dad. All with no explanation or remorse, the kids and I still don't know why she abandoned her family. So here I am again, lost my entire family. Fortunately this time the kids are very close but they're really messed up from the abandonment. Oy, life.
