It's so crazy. I went to alot of chicago house clubs and parties. I can't remember hearing this once. It's always on the radio or a friends house. I guess it was too slow for the dance floors. I've been clubbing since 1987 here.

That's because Vince Montana was churning out disco hits for SalSoul Records back in the 70's. This track is from 78. Chicago "House" clubs and parties were sparked by the arrival of Frankie Knuckles (from the 70's NYC underground) to the Chicago scene. He was heavily influenced by the NYC underground music scene at the time. Franky was a protégé of Nicky Siano ( The Gallery- NYC) and influenced by David Mancuso from the Loft. Larry Levan ( Paradise Garage) was also evolving at the time with the same crowd. I know, I was there, I experienced it for myself and knew these people.

An interesting track this one. A Great groove and one of a handful of "soundalike records" produced by Vince Montana from Salsoul Orchestra (possibly recorded at Sigma Studios in NYC or maybe Philadelphia)
As most could tell it's based on the groove from "Dance, dance, dance" written by by Chic.
