The band’s virtual drummer, Russel Hobbs, also states something interesting about the song in Rise of the Ogre;
“I’d bought this little great thing, a tiny microphone with a suckerpad on the end from Tandy, the electrical store. When you place it against the side of someone’s head, it picks up and records the sound of their thoughts. It literally transforms what they’re imagining into music.”

At times unbearably so
The lyrics of Gorillaz's song "Double Bass" depict an overwhelming sense of anxiety and pressure building up within the singer. The use of the phrase "all of which" suggests that the source of this anxiety is coming from multiple avenues, perhaps from personal or external factors. The repetition of the phrase "unbearably so" emphasizes the intensity of these feelings, suggesting that they have become almost unbearable for the singer.
The title of the song, "Double Bass," takes on a symbolic meaning, representing the burden that the singer is carrying. It is an instrument that requires a lot of strength and effort to play, and the repetitive and heavy rhythms of the song reflect this symbolism. The lyrics further expand on this idea, as the singer talks about feeling "weighted down" and having "problems with the weight of the world."
Overall, the song highlights the struggles of dealing with anxiety and stress in a world that can often feel overwhelming. The use of heavy rhythms and repetition creates a sense of suffocation, reinforcing the idea that these feelings can become all-consuming if not addressed.

JustLeo honestly people who say bass is useless probably can’t find a bass in any song that uses it.

I’ve heard bass in songs. It’s actually a really important part of a song.

Some people I know confuse the bass and regular guitar.

I love how gorillaz songs just have so fitting names. For example 5/4 is just... well a song that has a 5/4 melody over a 4/4 beat. And this is called Double bass, and well it just happens to feature 2 bass players.. :D
@NaikoArt
And Punk is just...you know, Punk :p
@isabellev9576
This song doesn't feature two bass players but rather an instrument called a double bass which is, well, two basses put together or something like that.
