His first solo album,'The Sky is Too High', was released in 1998 and has a very muted, uncommercial sound. 'TSITH' was followed by 'The Golden D' which features two covers of the band Mission Of Burma. The next album to come was 'Crow Sit On Blood Tree', which has some of his most ethereal tracks to date on, and is very lo-fi. Fourth album 'The Kiss Of Morning' shows Graham developing as an artist in his own right and the songs take on a more fleshed out and accomplished form. However, it was not until the release of 'Freakin' Out' in 2004 that Coxon had a solo mainstream hit. 'Happiness In Magazines', Graham's fifth album, is largely considered to be his most accessible and complete work, featuring frantic, slick guitar-pop of the highest order.
In 2006 Graham Coxon released his sixth solo album, 'Love Travels at Illegal Speeds', preceeded by the UK Top 20 single 'Standing On My Own Again'. 'Love Travels at Illegal Speeds' shows Coxon branching out to try his hand at some new sounds as well as tightening the punk-pop formula that is his hallmark. The album was released in two formats, with a DVD containing interviews and live tracks as an optional extra.
It marks Coxon's first album away from his now-defunct indie label 'Transcopic'. Coxon also played guitar on Peter Doherty's 2009 solo album Grace / Wastelands.
11th May 2009, Coxon released his 7th album 'The Spinning Top'. 2009 saw Coxon embark on numerous gigs with Blur, including headlining Glastonbury Festival.

Leave Me Alone
Graham Coxon Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
This is a joke that's being played to keep us all desensitized
And under strict control of those in power raking in the dough
While souless people wander gagged and silent
Wishing they could scream
Leave me alone
Leave me alone
Leave me alone
It's good to talk if you still can
With your emotions locked inside
A safety that is just as fake as your prescription drug
That holds the promise of another day
But makes you numb to all the shit
They put you through from day to day
That makes you want to scream
Leave me alone
Leave me alone
Leave me alone
Leave me alone
We're nothing, we're laughing
We're laughing, we're nothing
Leave me alone
Leave me alone
Leave me alone
Leave me alone
Graham Coxon's song "Leave Me Alone" is a critique of the control that those with power hold over our lives. The first line, "Too much information for our minds to comprehend," expresses the idea that we are being bombarded with so much information that we are unable to fully process it all. Coxon suggests that this information overload is a ploy to keep us desensitized and under strict control. The use of the word "soulless" to describe the people wandering "gagged and silent" suggests a lack of agency and autonomy.
Coxon's repetition of the refrain "leave me alone" is a plea to be allowed to disconnect from the noise and chaos of the world. He suggests that the mode of communication that relies on talking has its limitations and that sometimes, we need to retreat within ourselves to heal. The fake safety of prescription drugs is perhaps a metaphor for the idea that we are being medicated and numbed by the endless information overload. The repeated line "we're nothing, we're laughing / we're laughing, we're nothing" suggests a sense of absurdity and powerlessness in the face of the forces that seek to control us.
Overall, "Leave Me Alone" is a powerful critique of the systems of control that shape our lives. Coxon's lyrics paint a vivid picture of a world in which the individual is alienated and disconnected from themselves and the world around them. The song is a call to action, urging listeners to reclaim their agency and resist the forces that seek to control us.
