His first solo album,'The Sky is Too High', was released in 1998 and has a very muted, uncommercial sound. 'TSITH' was followed by 'The Golden D' which features two covers of the band Mission Of Burma. The next album to come was 'Crow Sit On Blood Tree', which has some of his most ethereal tracks to date on, and is very lo-fi. Fourth album 'The Kiss Of Morning' shows Graham developing as an artist in his own right and the songs take on a more fleshed out and accomplished form. However, it was not until the release of 'Freakin' Out' in 2004 that Coxon had a solo mainstream hit. 'Happiness In Magazines', Graham's fifth album, is largely considered to be his most accessible and complete work, featuring frantic, slick guitar-pop of the highest order.
In 2006 Graham Coxon released his sixth solo album, 'Love Travels at Illegal Speeds', preceeded by the UK Top 20 single 'Standing On My Own Again'. 'Love Travels at Illegal Speeds' shows Coxon branching out to try his hand at some new sounds as well as tightening the punk-pop formula that is his hallmark. The album was released in two formats, with a DVD containing interviews and live tracks as an optional extra.
It marks Coxon's first album away from his now-defunct indie label 'Transcopic'. Coxon also played guitar on Peter Doherty's 2009 solo album Grace / Wastelands.
11th May 2009, Coxon released his 7th album 'The Spinning Top'. 2009 saw Coxon embark on numerous gigs with Blur, including headlining Glastonbury Festival.

No Good Time

Eating blue smarties cause she's rock and roll
Gonna do some coke and maybe do some poking
Gonna spin some records for a Jack and Coke
Wasted little DJ, filling up the floor and
Your records are all boring cause you're cool as hell
Everybody's flying and everybody's sliding
A tiled cell
There's no good time to see your face
No good time to get erased
No good time to sink into the ground
Graphic designer, you could look no finer
In your eyeliner and your Silo's jeans
Living in the East End, with your teenage girlfriend
Every day's a weekend and a real cool scene
Everybody's flying, slipping and a sliding
Slowly suiciding in a tiled cell
You all go out together, holding hands forever
Shiny boots of leather looking like Lou Reed
Just like Lou Reed
There's no good time to see your face
No good time to feel erased
No good time to sink into the ground
There's no good time to see your face
No good time to get erased
No good time to suck up your lies
There's no good time to see your face
No good time to get erased
No good time to sink into the ground
The lyrics of Graham Coxon's song "No Good Time" present a bleak picture of young people indulging in drug use, nihilism, and self-destructive behavior in a world devoid of hope. The singer of the song is a "kick ass little girl" who is "rock and roll" and "cool as hell." She is going to a party, where she plans to do cocaine, have sex ("maybe do some poking"), and play records. The DJ at the party is depicted as "wasted" and "boring," and the people dancing on the floor are described as "slowly suiciding in a tiled cell." The graphic designer in the song, who lives in the East End of London with his teenage girlfriend, is similarly trapped in a culture of nihilism and hedonism that offers no escape.
The song expresses the futility of trying to find happiness and meaning in a world that seems to offer nothing but emptiness and despair. The repetition of the phrase "there's no good time" underscores the hopelessness of the situation, while the bleak imagery of people "slipping and sliding" and "sinking into the ground" suggests that there is no way out of this cycle of self-destruction.
In conclusion, "No Good Time" is a powerful and poignant expression of the disaffection and disillusionment of modern youth. Coxon's lyrics paint a vivid and vividly depressing picture of a generation caught in a cycle of drug use, sex, and nihilism. The song is a plea for empathy and understanding, as well as a warning against the dangers of a culture that offers no hope or prospect of a better future.
