Let Go
Grand Avenue Lyrics

And beating fast
I'm sleeping but my eyes
Are open wide
The room is covered
In yellow light
I keep singing the same line
We kept talking long into the night
Empty glasses always filled with lies
We keep singing the same song
Are we questioning tonight
Giving my secrets some light
Would your curious mind
Ever let go Ever let go
The quiet hour slowly comes to life
With all its restless eager tries
My head is heavy and the yellow night
Keep singing the same song
Are we questioning tonight
Giving my secrets some light
Would your curious mind
Ever let go Ever let go
Are we questioning tonight
Giving my secrets some light
Would your curious mind
Ever let go Ever let go
The lyrics to Grand Avenue's song Let Go speak to the feelings of anxiousness, confusion, and vulnerability that one can experience in a relationship. The first verse sets the tone with the singer admitting that his heart is beating hard and fast, even though he's sleeping with open eyes. The yellow light creates a sense of foreboding, perhaps suggesting that something isn't right. The singer is repeating the line that they keep singing the same song, which could mean that they are stuck in a pattern with their partner that isn't healthy or satisfying.
The second verse builds upon this feeling of unease, with lines about falling for the tricks that their partner plays and empty glasses filled with lies. The bridge poses the question of whether they are questioning their relationship and whether their partner's curious or nosy nature could ever let them go. The repetition of the chorus reinforces their worries and concerns. The last verse is more introspective, with lines about the quiet hour slowly coming to life and the singer's head being heavy. Despite this, they are still singing the same song, which could mean that they are stuck in this confusing, anxious cycle.
