Go Progress Chrome
Grandaddy Lyrics

They paint the moon today
Some brand new future color
Go progress chrome
I aim to shoot the scarfolds
I like it how it's always been
Go progress chrome
Nocturnal glare confusion
Will hunt the contractor
Go progress chrome
I won't be at your unveiling
I like it how it's always been
How it's always been
The lyrics to Grandaddy's song "Go Progress Chrome" are filled with contradictions and juxtapositions. The phrase "go progress chrome" seems to encourage the idea of technological advancement and modernization, yet the rest of the lyrics suggest a reluctance to embrace these changes. Painting the moon in a "brand new future color" suggests a desire to change and improve the world, but the singer also aims to "shoot the scaffold," suggesting a destructive impulse towards those responsible for this change.
