Under the name Arm of Roger, Grandaddy recorded a joke album entitled The Ham and its Lily in 2002.
A.M. 180, which was released as a single, is featured prominently in the British film 28 Days Later.
On the 27th January 2006, Jason Lytle confirmed that the band would split following the release of their final album, Just Like The Fambly Cat.
Jason Lytle has since toured the US as a solo artist, playing Grandaddy songs from the last album and others. He is said to plan a solo career of new material.
On March 2, 2012, Grandaddy announced their reunion with news of a headline slot at the End of the Road Festival in Dorset, England on 2 September. Further dates are expected.

Now here I am. I know every word*. The whole song is burnt in to my memory like I was listening to it all through high school. I *probably was*. But *where did I hear it originally!?!?
This is totally my style of music too. Or at least it was. These days Iâm more in to low roar, but thatâs a pretty natural progression given the time that has passed.
I canât find this as a song in a video game or a movie anywhere. But I did live in california near Modesto back then. Same area code and everything. So maybe the radio? But I didnât listen to the radio much.

I once heard this song outside a cafe and it literally haunted me for six months. I couldn't remember the lyrics but I remembered the rhythms. Then one day I remembered enough to google it (yes after months had gone by) and was able to find it again, after hearing it for maybe just a minute or so I knew it was one of the most beautiful songs I'd ever heard. I love this band so much.
