Over 50 Original Tracks Written & Recorded in Less Than 8 Hours - 'On The Fly' One Take!
So we did it again and recorded even more of them !
Well over a hundred tracks in only a couple of days.
This Is Jammin' In It's Purest Form With No Overdubs & Totally Original and Alive.
Embarrassing in Places but Shockingly Good in Others.
This Collection Of Tracks Is the result of an Annual Boys Reunion & Jam Session (Not a Pro Recording Session) In Our Home Town - Macclesfield.
I'ts sad how life can make you drift away from your roots.
This happened to us, George lives in London, Nick in Bristol, Paul in Cambridge & Jools in Manchester,
A reunion was hinted at then a reunion jam planned in 2010.
Although we were all friends we had never been in a band together & we hadn't played together in this line-up so thought it would be fun to all meet up and have couple of beers and a Jam,
So we Did - at a brewery...
Although the PA got taken away halfway through the session, everyone enjoyed it so much we decided to have another jam at our historic place of making music, the 'Mens Den Barber Shop' (Paul's dads shop) and record it,
So we did!
Paul took the recordings home, trimmed off the chit chat and roughly mixed them.
This is the result
Unfortunately due to some idiot visiting us and making the place stink to high heaven while we were jamming , we were banned from the Den, Kindly Jake Evans let us use his place for the 2013 Jam, nice one Jake.
The Jams continued back at the Barber Shop in 2014 thanks to Roberts kind understanding.
These haven't been trimmed yet
Here are just a few tracks from the collection, Sound Cloud won't allow any more than these 27:
Jams 2 & 3 - recorded at The Men's Den 2011 /2012 (Thanks Robert for letting us use your salon) Jams
Jam 4 - recorded at The Big Red 2013 (Thanks Jake for letting us use your studio)
Jam 5 - recorded at The Men's Den 2014 (Thanks Robert for letting us use your salon again (Sorry for the smell))
GRAPHINE aka Glass Rockstarr:
We thought a name would be fun for the pretend band, Jools always wanted a band called Glass, so we tried that, Unfortunately there are loads of bands with that name already so we tried Glasss, then Glasss Rockstarr.
Graphene seemed a little less awkward and as it is clear, strong & flexible seemed very apt.
In The Spirit Of "1,2,3,4 - Let's See What Happens, Don't Stop Just Keep Playing and bounce off each other...."
Each Track as written 'On The Fly' With No Preconceptions or Working Out Beforehand.
This Is Jammin' In It's Purest Form With No Overdubs
(apart from the thunder on Feel the Thunder & applause on Why Why Why live camera mic, sorry thats not on here)
Totally Original.
Embarrassing in Places but Shockingly Good in Others.

This the realest
Need y'all to feel me for real
Yellow paint on the road turns to yellow tape
Feel like I'm on the road to heaven's gates
Feel like I'm on the road yea
Like I'm packing up my bag it's just a mile away
Feel like I'm going home to heaven's place
They ain't get to make it home nah nah
All because they hit the road uh uh
Man on everything I love yeah on my soul
I'ma fight to change the story that is told
About this yellow tape
Playing instrumentals when I'm riding
Through the countryside thinking bout my people dying
And how often
These automobiles turn into coffins
Now I'm caught in
A thought that wills should be in glove compartments
Cause it's thoughtless to think that I'm not threatening
To officers indebted to a system that be crediting
My homicide to my own actions
Y'all not getting it
Black kids don't get to be rookies we raised as veterans
Seeing bloodshed on the block and TV screen
While we play with blocks and rush to bed just so that we can dream
Of a better place and time and stories with better themes
Cause we learn about Dr. King without hearing by any means
Yeah it's fucked up
Makes me not want to give a damn
About succeeding in a country that's built on stolen land
And every time I think of moving forward and being a bigger man
I can still see Castille dying driving with his fam
To his back and his side
There's no black without pride
We wait for hate to subside
Then we'll run out of time
And I'm just a guy
You can't fix this with rhymes
But if they deaf to the actions
Then this could be a sign
For ppl to come alive
Before another one dies
In they car or they home
Where you're supposed to be fine
Atatiana or Breonna didn't see 29
Janisha Tanisha and Michelle needed help
But they're lives
Got erased like the names of black women from the front of our minds
Forgotten like my brothers in the pin who are sentenced for crimes
And come home to nothing
Can't get a job or a dime
Abolition over reform please open your eyes

The lyrics of Graphene's song "Yellow Tape" delve deep into themes of loss, grief, and systemic injustice that plague the Black community. The artist starts by calling for empathy and understanding from the listeners, emphasizing the gravity and realness of the events being described. The metaphor of yellow paint on the road turning into yellow tape symbolizes the transition from the mundane to the tragic, from an everyday road to the scene of a fatal accident. This imagery sets the tone for the rest of the song, where the artist reflects on the journey towards heaven's gates, a metaphor for finding peace and rest after a life filled with struggle and hardship.
The lyrics vividly depict the harsh reality faced by many Black individuals who tragically lose their lives on the streets, often at the hands of systemic injustices and violence. The mention of innocent lives lost due to senseless acts of violence and the impact felt by the community portray a powerful message of the pain and loss that reverberates through generations. The artist expresses a strong determination to fight against the narratives that seek to downplay or justify these injustices, emphasizing the need for change and accountability.
Throughout the song, Graphene intertwines personal reflections with broader social commentary on the challenges faced by the Black community. The lyrics touch on the struggles of being Black in a society built on stolen land and the constant fear and trauma that comes with living in a world where violence against Black individuals is tragically normalized. The artist captures the weight of historical trauma and the ongoing battle for equality and justice, urging listeners to acknowledge the systemic roots of these issues and take action to bring about meaningful change.
By highlighting the stories of individuals whose lives were cut short and voices that have been silenced, Graphene confronts the listener with the harsh realities of racial injustice and systemic oppression. The repeated refrain of feeling like being on the road to heaven and going home underscores a longing for peace and a better future, while also acknowledging the pain and hardship endured along the way. Ultimately, "Yellow Tape" serves as a poignant call to action to confront the injustices ingrained in society, honor the lives lost to systemic violence, and work towards a more just and equitable world for all.
