A lot can be said about a band who plays more than 100 shows in the first 6 months of their existence. Especially in a day and age where all it takes for certain bands to "make it" is to create a MySpace profile with glossy promo photos and tens of thousands of "fans". GRAVE MAKER is a band who blasted out of the gate, without help from anyone. No label support, no management, and no booking agent. Bailey, bassist and member of Canadian heavy hitters FIGURE FOUR (Solid State Records) comments "The chemistry of GRAVE MAKER works well because we are a group of friends who all share similar ideas about we want to do with our lives and where we want to go with the band. We're just trying to escape the every day 9-5 jobs we've all worked and have the experiences that only ever seem to come from being on tour." GRAVE MAKER may be a new band, but the members have grown up in the hardcore scene. Look for the North West natives in your town before the end of 2008 supporting their debut "Bury Me At Sea". The full length effort was produced by Roger Camero (THE WARRIORS, NO MOTIV) and features guests including Andrew Neufeld of COMEBACK KID and Rick Jimenez of THIS IS HELL and SOLDIERS. Look for it in stores on July 22nd, 2008.
Currently signed to Victory with a new album under their belt, Ghosts Among Men.
Seducer
Grave Maker Lyrics

I'm colder than ever, and you're not comprehending it
Are you blind to these empty eyes
That don't care if you live or die?
You mean nothing to me!
It's people like me - people like us
Destined to be alone!
Tired of trying,
Tired of giving up,
Your comfort can't comfort me!
Damn all the years of self abuse.
When it's all said and done,
That's gotta be what brought out the worst.
You mean nothing to me!
It's people like me - people like us
Destined!
Alone!
Choke yourself on the spit from every word that leaves your lips!
Destined!
Alone!
The Grave Maker's song Seducer is a reflection of the singer's inner turmoil and the singer's cold, detached, and nihilistic personality. The lyrics are directed towards someone who the singer feels is trying to connect with them on a deeper level. However, the singer is unable to see any meaning in the relationship and believes that the other person is blind to the ice-cold eyes and lack of emotion that they possess. The singer makes it clear that the other person's life is insignificant to them, and they don't care about their survival. The singer explains that he is destined to be alone and that people like him, and the people that relate to him, are destined for the same isolated life. The song seems to mirror the singer's own struggles with addiction and self-abuse, which have actively contributed to the worst aspects of his personality. He realizes that he's tired of trying to change his ways or finding those who understand him, and it's time to accept his bleak present and future.
The song does not follow a conventional pop-song structure, as it doesn't have a chorus, and the lyrics are weaved together through ambiguous phrases and fragmented images. This structure enhances the cold, unemotional themes of the song by creating a haunting and disorienting effect. The use of repetition in the lyrics, especially the repeating phrase, "people like us," reinforces the theme of isolation and nihilism prevalent throughout the song.
