So, the carbon 14 half life of 5730 years means it can't be used to date the age of dinosaur fossils older than twice that of the half life, or much less.

🤔5730 years is the decay rate of carbon-14... at least that is what Rutherford and Soddy calculated? or it might have been Libby?

Allow me to State some massive problems with radiocarbon dating. The decay rates are affected by solar flares. All kinds of radiations can actually accelerate the aging process of radiocarbons and since we cannot currently quantify all the solar flares and radiation that is affecting each element we cannot presume to date things using this method. dating by layers of Earth is also a mistake given that we have seen meteorites strike the Earth causing megatons of Earth to be ejected into the lower atmosphere only to drop down in hundreds of layers over the period of days. We've seen volcanoes erupt that caused multiple layers in hours. Science is still a baby. It needs to grow up still.

All of the factors which can influence C14 dating are taken care of by the calibration curve which is regularly updated when artifacts of known age, e.g. tree rings, ancient buildings and documents etc. are measured.

@George Reynolds So you are telling me that they have accounted for all solar flares and accounted for the magnitudes of each solar flare since before they could be measured? Nope. Wrong answer.

@Archangel Metatron It is the neutron flux from cosmic radiation that produces the C14. Solar flares are mostly protons and electrons and are short-lived compared to the constant flux of very high energy (>3MeV) gamma radiation known as "cosmic" radiation. I suppose your religious beliefs will condition your views anyway.

@George Reynolds the only reason my religious beliefs will influence My views is because they are the truth. So if you're not coming up with evidence the supports the truth then it is a lie. And I know enough to know that dating systems are completely blown out of the water.

This is only a small taste. Since we don't know the frequency nor magnitude of solar flares in the past we cannot calculate the disruption carbon-14 or any other radioactive elements in the past. The further back we go the less we can be sure.

@George Reynolds and don't worry I have tons of documentation which is evidence of what I'm suggesting. We have whale fossils on top of mountains that prove that there was a global flood. Google it. We know that an asteroid struck the Earth at one point which is what we believe wiped out the dinosaurs but that's not all that it did because it caused the epic global flood and ensuing ice age which we are still in. Again more evidence that it happened recently and not millions of years ago. The fact that we have glaciers at all suggests that the ice age was not that long ago because we live in the Goldilocks zone which does not permit glaciers to exist here for any length of time except in the case of extinction level events such as the asteroid which wiped out the dinosaurs and all of mankind except for a few and those records are kept carefully in the Bible.

Because we are looking for half life, we need P(t) to be half of whatever P_0 is. 1/2 is half of 1. You can use any amount for P_0 as long as you use half the amount for P(t).
