Ungrateful Are the Dead
Graveyard Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Buried in darkness again,
free from the thoughts of you
And happiness within my reach,
but as usual I threw it away

Seeking the answers below,
on the bottom, everyone knows
that life is for the living
but today I'm not one of them

Turn around and walk away,
listen closely to what I say
Have you seen what I have seen?
Have you been where I have been?
Down the path that leads to hell

The worm inside my chest,
that's feeding on my pain,
has lived there for many years now
since the day that evil ...

Turn around and walk away,
listen closely to what I say
Have you seen what I have seen?
Have you been where I have been?
Down the path that leads to hell
I'll see you soon again

One thing I know,
that in no time you'll get tired of your peace of mind
Rise up again,
no time to pretend that actually I'm one of them

The ungrateful are the dead,
while they rest in peace

But I am a living dead
Oh God, give me rest

This band manages to simultaneously invoke the spirit of 70s rock and be completely original...Many bands get stuck sounding like a knock-off, few can pull it off like this band here. I am blessed to have stumbled upon this. This band deserves several million more views.

Benny Bate

One of the greatest albums of all time in my opinion! Followed very closely by Lights Out!

Anthony Tellone

Lights is out isnt even near the same level imo. It seems stoner rock bands have 1 album that defines them and the rest are good but not great. Asteroid self titled stoned jesus seven thunders roar witchcraft self titled etc

Jay Phillips

I cannot get over how much I love this song.

Andre Barros

This album is a 70's psych rock masterpiece - and the band should be highly commended. If you like them, check out Gentlemans Pistols from Leeds

Draconiis
