Forever Yours
Grayscale Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Stained glass patterns porcelain
Your watercolors running
All your paintings
Are fading from the walls
Miss, I miss the way you breathe
The way you twitch in your sleep
Your smile, your straight teeth
And the scars along on your cheeks (oh, oh)

I should have wrote that letter
You looked beautiful in white but I stayed home, oh
Could never live without you
But I guess I'll have to
You're gone, gone, gone

All the promises
Vows under the covers
We would play pretend my love
But it was real to me
Now I waste my days away
I know I can't recover
There's no love lost
But I'll be forever yours

Walk the grove we'd always go
Where the summer made our shadows tall
I look out for them
But now there's only one
Run my hands through winter grass
Pretend I feel your warmth again
But the grass is cold and dead
My pain might never end (oh, oh)

That cathedral hall
And that ivy wall, aisle I'll never know, oh
Could never live without you
But I guess I'll have to
You're gone, gone, gone

All the promises
Vows under the covers
We would play pretend my love
But it was real to me
Now I waste my days away
I know I can't recover
There's no love lost
But I'll be forever yours

Forever yours
Forever yours
No love lost
But I'll be forever yours
Forever yours
Forever yours
No love lost
But I'll be forever yours

Place my bouquet of old regrets
Drop the weight of my sins
The ground takes in the better man I could have been

All the promises
Vows under the covers
We would play pretend my love
But it was real to me
Now I waste my days away
I know I can't recover
There's no love lost
But I'll be forever yours

Forever yours
Forever yours
No love lost
But I'll be forever yours
Forever yours
Forever yours

No love lost
But I'll be forever yours

Overall Meaning

The song “Forever Yours” by Grayscale tells the story of regret and lost love. The lyrics are full of imagery that uses art to express the memories that the singer holds onto. The stained glass, porcelain, and watercolors represent the fragility of the past memories that are fading away. The singer misses his love dearly, from her breathing to the scars on her cheeks, and longs to hear from her once more. He laments that he never wrote her the letter he intended to, regrets not attending her wedding, and acknowledges that she’s gone forever.

The lyrics also describe the places that the couple used to frequent, like the grove where the shadows were tall or the ivy wall where they stood. But now, these places only remind the singer that his love is gone. He tries to hold onto the warmth that these places once had, but even the grass feels cold and dead. The song concludes with the singer acknowledging his regret as he places his old regrets into a bouquet and drops the weight of his sins. While there is no love lost, he will forever be hers.

@HomophobicHomie

@@bleakobituary i wasn’t expecting you to respond because the comment was three years old haha. I am glad you appreciate it. Even if you aren’t religious Jesus still loves you and he will always be there for you waiting with open arms for you to run to him.

Maybe it will annoy you but i want you to hear the gospel, and it’s this.

If you were to die tonight where would you go?
We all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. Everyone has lied, lusted, stolen, murdered (the Bible says if you hate someone it is murder in your heart).
And because of that sin that we are going to have a punishment. And that punishment is hell. To burn for eternity. But there is hope. God did something to pay our debt essentially. In court someone can pay off a fine and the person can go free. God did the same thing for us by sending Jesus, his son, to earth as a perfect lamb, someone who never sinned, to die. For you, for me, for everyone. He was sent to die so that the debt that you owed could be payed. So that whoever believes on the Lord Jesus Christ and confesses that he is Lord will be saved. So that when you pass on, you will have eternal life with him in heaven forever. Today was Easter Sunday and it is the day we celebrate what Jesus did for us by dying and being an atonement for our sins, paying our fine and then rising again, conquering death three days later.
I am truly sorry for your loss and i hope and pray you are doing okay. Life is so precious and none of us know when we die. So accept God as your savior, confess he is Lord, and live a life for him and let him transform all the heartache into joy.

Jesus loves you so much. And if you have any questions please respond back to my comment. God can transform your life and make it so bright and beautiful. Hardships may come but he gets you through it all. If you don’t have a Bible i would recommend buying one and reading it. I am praying for you and i assure you that there is hope and love in Jesus ❤️. God loves you and if you walk away from this thinking that reading this was just a waste of time, i promise you it wasn’t. I spent time to write this because i care about you. I have never met you but i care about you. I don’t want you to die and go to hell. I want you to surrender to God and live for him. God bless you. I am praying for you😊
