Wake Me Up When September Ends
Green Day Lyrics
Summer has come and passed
The innocent can never last
Wake me up when September ends
Like my fathers come to pass
Seven years has gone so fast
Wake me up when September ends
Here comes the rain again
Falling from the stars
Becoming who we are
As my memory rests
But never forgets what I lost
Wake me up when September ends
Summer has come and passed
The innocent can never last
Wake me up when September ends
Ring out the bells again
Like we did when spring began
Wake me up when September ends
Here comes the rain again
Falling from the stars
Drenched in my pain again
Becoming who we are
As my memory rests
But never forgets what I lost
Wake me up when September ends
Summer has come and passed
The innocent can never last
Wake me up when September ends
Like my father's come to pass
Twenty years has gone so fast
Wake me up when September ends
Wake me up when September ends
Wake me up when September ends

"Wake Me Up When September Ends" had sold 1,652,000 copies as of May 2010, and was the second highest selling single in the U.S. from American Idiot, behind only the multi-platinum "Boulevard of Broken Dreams". The song ended the streak of Green Day's three consecutive #1 hits on the Modern Rock Tracks chart ("American Idiot", "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" and "Holiday"), but it hit #2 on the chart, kept from #1 by Gorillaz "Feel Good Inc.". The song also hit #2 on the Adult Top 40 and #4 on the Mainstream Top 40. This was the band's most successful song to the adult contemporary market, hitting #13 on its own chart and their only song to chart other than "Boulevard of Broken Dreams". The song is certified Silver in the United Kingdom for sales of 200,000
Music video
Like the majority of the videos from the album American Idiot, it was directed by Samuel Bayer. The video features Green Day's support guitarist, Jason White. This is the second time Jason White has appeared in a Green Day video, first appearing in "When I Come Around", ten years earlier but not as a band member.
The video focuses on a very loving couple (played by Jamie Bell and Evan Rachel Wood). The boyfriend promises never to leave his girlfriend but they later argue when the boyfriend enlists in the United States Marine Corps. The boyfriend interprets his actions as a way to show her that he loves her so much that he would put his life on the line to keep her safe; the girlfriend, however, is heartbroken, as he broke his vow to never leave her, and terrified at the thought that he might die in battle. The video then shows the boyfriend in battle in Iraq being ambushed by insurgents. This scene is intercut with scenes of the girlfriend tearfully mourning in a quiet field. The video ends on this juxtaposition, emphasizing the pain and heartache of losing loved ones due to the war.
This video adds to the American Idiot anti-war sentiment of the Iraq War. The song eventually became a tribute song to the victims of Hurricane Katrina, and sound bites were added from various news coverages to the song. A live version of the song, recorded on September 3, 2005, at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts was released soon after and dedicated to the hurricane's victims. The song was performed live with U2 guitarist The Edge in the pregame show of the Monday Night Football game between the New Orleans Saints and the Atlanta Falcons; it was the first game played in the Superdome in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina.

that guy
Infatuation touches me just when I thought that it would end
Oh but then again it seems much more than that but
I'm not sure exactly what you're thinking
Well, I toss and turn all night thinking of your ways of effection
But to find that it's not different at all
Well, I throw away my past mistakes and contemplate my future
That's when I say
What the heck!
Would I last forever?
You and I together
Hand and hand
We run away (far away)
I'm in for nasty weather
But I'll take whatever you can
Give that comes my way (far away)
Here we go again
Infatuation touches me just when I thought that it would end
Oh but then again it seems much more than that but
I'm not sure exactly what you're thinking
Well, I toss and turn all night
Thinking of your ways of effection
But to find that it's not different at all

100 Reasons Not To Kill Yourself
1. We would miss you.
2. It’s not worth the regret. Either by yourself if you failed or simply left scars — or the regret everyone else would feel by not having done enough to help you.
3. It does get better. Believe it or not. Sometimes the storm takes you to the rainbow.
4. There’s so much you would miss out on doing.
5. There is always a reason to live. It might not be clear right now, but it is always there.
6. So many people care, and it would hurt them if you hurt yourself.
7. You ARE worth it. Don’t let anyone, especially yourself, tell you otherwise.
8. You are amazing.
9. A time will come, once you’ve battled the toughest times of your life and are in ease once again, where you will be so glad that you decided to keep on living. You will emerge stronger from this all, and won’t regret your choice to carry on with life. Because things always get better.
10. What about all the things you’ve always wanted to do? What about the things you’ve planned, but never got around to doing? You can’t do them when you’re dead.
11. I love you. Even if only one person loves you, that’s still a reason to stay alive.
12. You won’t be able to listen to music if you die.
13. Killing yourself is never worth it. You’ll hurt both yourself and all the people you care about.
14. There are so many people that would miss out on who you are or will become with a little more time.
15. You’re preventing a future generation, your kids, from even tasting the miracle that is life.
16. How do you think your family would feel? Would it improve their lives if you died?
17. You’re gorgeous, amazing, and to someone you are perfect.
18. Think about your favorite music artist, you’ll never hear their voice again…
19. You’ll never have the feeling of walking into a warm building on a cold day.

@Greatness Is here you know EXACTLY what a “snowflake” is.
How many times have YOU been down range?
That’s what I thought.
Talk about a snowflake...i
It’s ok, there’s a reason only 1-3% of Americans are military.
Not everyone is capable.
For people like you, there is a place on the curb to sit as soldiers and vets walk past.
Snowflakes are necessary to thank the less than 3% that can actually wear the uniform.
Thankfully this isn’t real life and normal people don’t act like that when their SO enlists.
Again, the difference between a snowflake and service member.
You don’t get it, it’s a soldier thing.
