Thanks to their enigmatic live shows and extensive touring Green Lizard built up a solid live reputation throughout Europe, played the Vans Warped Tour in 2003 and even did shows in South America.
In May of 2006, GREEN LIZARD saw the release of their third record on I Scream Records in Europe. The album is called Las Armas Del Silencio and features 10 solid rock songs which are the best the band ever did. Together with its great artwork, this record is already considered a classic in the history of GREEN LIZARD.
The self produced album was recorded by Menno Bakker (NRA, Undeclinable) and Alejandro Londoño (Agresión), mixed by Clif Norrell (REM, The Pixies, Rollins, Faith No More, Mansun, Jeff Buckley) in Los Angeles and mastered at John Golden Mastering. Singer Remi about the recordings: ’This was definitely a new experience for us. By recording in different studios and with different people, we got the best of both worlds in this recording! Although it was extremely fun to produce it ourselves, it was a lot more work than we anticipated and we couldn’t have done it without the help of Menno and Alejandro. Of course, after recording two previous albums with a man like Clif taught us a lot about making a record.’
GREEN LIZARD’s previous albums were put out by Sony Music and sold more than 22.000 copies just in the Netherlands. Singer Remi: 'We never planned on signing to a major but our label got bought up by Sony Music. We sold pretty well and the last record 'Newborn' was supposed to be a European Sony signing but that never happened. We get offers to tour in Europe and the States all the time, but we never had a release there. This time we decided to find a label that can get the record out in all of Europe.'

Autumn
Green Lizard Lyrics

said you wanted to talk
I was afraid
'cause you spoke so softly
You took my hand
slowly started to cry
I can't understand
CHORUS:
Why do leaves fall down from the sky
Is the tree not strong enough
2X
You turn away
slowly open the door
Said you could not stay
you could not take it no more
It started to rain
tears kept falling from the sky
Ooo...it did not stop the pain
It did not stop the pain
CHORUS
Now I fall on the ground (repeat)
It did not stop the pain
It did not stop the pain
Yeah...
No oooo....
Ooo noooo....
O no...no
Don't fall on me
Don't fall on me
Don't fall on me
The lyrics to "Autumn" by Green Lizard tell the story of a relationship that has come to an end. The song begins with a phone call from the other person requesting a conversation, indicating that something significant has happened. The singer is afraid, perhaps knowing that she isn't going to hear what she wants to hear. The other person begins to cry as she takes the singer's hand, and the singer is confused as to why their relationship has come to an end. The chorus of the song seeks to answer this question, asking why the leaves fall down from the sky, and if it's because the tree wasn't strong enough to keep them on.
The other person turns away, opens the door and leaves. As the singer stands alone in the rain, it's clear that the relationship is over. The tears that fall from the sky represent the sadness and hurt the singer feels. The song ends with an instrumental segment, with the repeated lines, "It did not stop the pain" and "Don't fall on me," creating a sense of ambiguity and visceral emotion. The song's lyrics are poignant and relatable, speaking to anyone who has experienced the heartbreak and loss of a once-beloved relationship.
