Thanks to their enigmatic live shows and extensive touring Green Lizard built up a solid live reputation throughout Europe, played the Vans Warped Tour in 2003 and even did shows in South America.
In May of 2006, GREEN LIZARD saw the release of their third record on I Scream Records in Europe. The album is called Las Armas Del Silencio and features 10 solid rock songs which are the best the band ever did. Together with its great artwork, this record is already considered a classic in the history of GREEN LIZARD.
The self produced album was recorded by Menno Bakker (NRA, Undeclinable) and Alejandro Londoño (Agresión), mixed by Clif Norrell (REM, The Pixies, Rollins, Faith No More, Mansun, Jeff Buckley) in Los Angeles and mastered at John Golden Mastering. Singer Remi about the recordings: ’This was definitely a new experience for us. By recording in different studios and with different people, we got the best of both worlds in this recording! Although it was extremely fun to produce it ourselves, it was a lot more work than we anticipated and we couldn’t have done it without the help of Menno and Alejandro. Of course, after recording two previous albums with a man like Clif taught us a lot about making a record.’
GREEN LIZARD’s previous albums were put out by Sony Music and sold more than 22.000 copies just in the Netherlands. Singer Remi: 'We never planned on signing to a major but our label got bought up by Sony Music. We sold pretty well and the last record 'Newborn' was supposed to be a European Sony signing but that never happened. We get offers to tour in Europe and the States all the time, but we never had a release there. This time we decided to find a label that can get the record out in all of Europe.'

Down
Green Lizard Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
You try 2 survive
And try to hold on
As we will go down
And we will fall down
One day I will go into a new state of mind I guess
I'll try 2 know my name
I try to blink but go numb
So it throws mud in my eye
I gasp for air but there's none
My lungs explode inside
I should know better than 2 let things get to me
I should know better than 2 let let them get to me
I should know better than 2 let you get to me
I should know better than 2 let let me get to me
It's hard when
You try 2 survive
And try to hold on
So we will go down
And we will go
through the lyrics of Green Lizard's song "Down", we can see a recurring theme of struggling to survive and hold on, with hints of anxiety and self-doubt. The first few lines emphasize this sentiment, as the singer acknowledges the difficulty of staying afloat and the inevitability of "going down".
The second stanza brings in a feeling of inevitability, suggesting that the singer is resigned to his fate until he can reach a "new state of mind". This sense of unease is emphasized in the following lines, where the singer feels helpless and overpowered by the obstacles in his way.
The chorus repeats the idea that it's difficult to keep going, while the final stanza ends with a resolution to learn from these struggles and not let them get in the way of progress.
Overall, "Down" seems to be a song about the challenges of life and how it can weigh on one's mental health. Through the lyrics, the singer suggests that it can be tough to stay afloat and not let the hardships get the best of us. However, there is a sense of hope that things will get better and that we can learn valuable lessons from these experiences.
