Three Days
Green Pat Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Wake up, what you been dreaming about
I ain't got a lot to say, but I could talk to you for hours
The way you talk, the way that you breathe
The way that your spirit moves into me
Wake up, wake up, wake up, wake up

[Chorus]
I got three days to wash the road out of my soul
I got three days to love you out of control
And I wish I had a lifetime to hold onto you this way
Love can do some healing in just three days

Yeah, and hold me and help me understand
Why on earth I have to be such a stupid man
To live the way I do, dream the dreams I dream
So far away from you, yeah
Hold me, hold me, hold me, hold me, hold me, hold me

[Chorus]

Three days and nights to put some life back in this man
I ain't holding nothing back
You got all I am
Hearts and souls and dreams in the plam of your hand

[Chorus: x2]

Overall Meaning

The song "Three Days" by Green Pat is about the transformative power of love. The singer wakes up and realizes the potential for a deeper connection with their loved one. The lyrics emphasize the physical and spiritual sensations of being with that person, from the way they talk and breathe to the way their spirit moves into the singer. The first verse introduces the idea of "washing the road out of my soul," which suggests that the singer has been on a journey or experienced some hardship. The chorus then lays out the central message of the song: that love has the power to heal and transform in just three days. The singer wishes they had a lifetime to hold onto this feeling.

The second verse delves deeper into the singer's personal struggle, expressing some regret for being a "stupid man" and living a life that feels disconnected from their loved one. The repetition of "hold me" emphasizes the desire for physical and emotional closeness. The second chorus repeats the idea that three days is all it takes to rejuvenate the singer's spirit and bring them closer to their loved one. The final lines suggest a sense of surrender and commitment, with the singer offering their hearts, souls, and dreams to the person they love.

Overall, the song expresses a sense of urgency and passion, emphasizing the transformative power of love and the desire for closeness with another person. The focus on a limited timeframe - three days - reinforces the idea that love can be intense and transformative even in a short amount of time.

When this song came out my husband and I took a trip to Colorado from New York State. It took 3 days. We left our home and work responsibilities to travel with just the 2 of us . We met up with more family so those 3 days were all we had to ourselves. I played this song to start our trip and it became a tradition to play it every time we started a new trip ever since.

I don't understand why he doesn't have more #1 hits... I've never heard a song by Pat Green that I didn't enjoy. Hes not like most of the new country artists... You can tell he sings from his heart

It's because he turned pop country. I don't mean he sold out. I was happy when he made it in Nashville. I just think after this album he compromised his sound. It sounds like everything else.
