Extra Classic
Gregory Isaacs Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Sister love, whenever time you're all alone,
Just pick up your telephone,
And say, "My darling come on over"
Sister love, love, love,
Please don't stay away too far,
You may not be a movie star, girl,
But extra classic, that's what you are.
Yes, extra classic, that's what you are.
Sister love, love, love,
Someday I will make you mine,
Just you call me any time
Whether it's raining, it's snow or shine, girl.
Sister love, love, love,
Please don't stay away too far, no,
You may not be a movie star, girl,
But extra classic, that's what you are,
Yes, extra classic, that's what you are.
Whether you're near, or whether you're far.

Extra classic that's what you are, I know.
I'm never, never going to let you go.

So glad I found this. Got to see Gregory Isaacs live at De Buss in Negril. I bought one of the CD he had for sale there—long gone now. Hard to believe nearly 30 years have passed. De Buss is gone. Gregory Isaacs is gone. But the great music of the smoothest reggae wizard lives on. Everything is still irie.
