When you point out their deity's nature and even intent
When discussing the nature and intentions of a deity, people can become defensive

Belief is so important that if you don't you go to hell
Religion places a lot of emphasis on belief and punishes those who do not believe

Without the type of proof you'd need in court to avoid a jail
The level of proof required to avoid punishment in religion is much lower than what is required in a court of law

The artist would rather face punishment for not believing in religion than comply with its demands

All because I can't fathom how your god doesn't need a cause
The artist finds it difficult to accept a deity without a cause or explanation

Religious freedom is an oxymoron
The idea of religious freedom contradicts the restrictive nature of religion

Apologists for Mohammed's actions try to excuse his behavior by saying it was acceptable in that time period

Rationalizing atrocities now you sound like Christians
Using excuses to justify immoral behavior is similar to what some Christians do

I charge the views on women as sickening
Views on women in some religions are misogynistic and unacceptable

Either update the culture or just fade into history
Religious culture can either adapt to modern values or become irrelevant in society

But either way...

The restrictive nature of some religions can feel like imprisonment

What's worse is that the prisoners don't know that they're prisoners
Many religious followers are unaware of the oppressive nature of their beliefs

Even defend the tactics that are used to imprison them
Some religious followers will defend the restrictive and oppressive practices of their religion
