He mostly operates as an unsigned act, releasing his albums through Evening Records; the one exception to this rule is Lost And Found, his only widely-commercial release. Griffin is almost always on tour and recently completed a successful tour opening for Mat Kearney. House attended Miami University in Oxford, Ohio and released the album Lost & Found in 2004. It was recorded on a shoestring budget with House, his band and a few friends doing the producing and recording themselves with only one or two takes. House also recorded a cover of the Jackson Browne song, "These Days" for the Everwood soundtrack album. Both that song and "Amsterdam" were later featured in the show.

When the children will run and laugh with the Son
And you, you will be mine, in awhile
And honey that's all I need
Honey that's all I need
Let me go now, if I shall be released
I've been here before, I've been deceased
That redemption may come like a wave over me,
I will walk through my garden of roses that fade
And I wait for the day that is done
And I will do, I will do,
Whatever it takes to believe a new day will come
I've been down
I've been broken by shame
I've been carving too shallow a meaning out of my name
That redemption may come like a wave over me,
Run me still to the shore, pull me out of the sea
I will walk through my garden of roses that fade,
And I'll wait for the day that is done
I will do, I will do,
Whatever it takes to believe a new day will come
Oh where do we go to hide?
Oh where are we gonna hide?
Oh where are we gonna hide?
If I call out your name will you answer me now
Like you always have said that you would?
I will do, I will do,
Whatever it takes to believe
Oh, I'm making a new life for myself
Oh, I'm making a new life for myself
Oh, I'm making a new life for myself
Oh, I'm making a new life for myself
Get me into the higher love
Where are we gonna hide love?
Get me in! Get me in to the higher love
New day, new day, new day, new day.
The song "New Day" by Griffin House is about hope and redemption. It talks about a new day that will come where children will run and laugh with the Son. The Son is a reference to Jesus Christ and the song talks about how everything falls into place and is complete once we come to Him. The singer is looking forward to the day when they will be reunited with their love and is willing to do whatever it takes to believe in that new day.
The song also talks about being broken, shame and the quest for redemption. The lines "I've been down, I've been broken by shame, I've been carving too shallow a meaning out of my name" talk about how the singer has gone through tough times in their life, but they are ready for a new life. He wants to be pulled out of the sea and walk through his garden of roses that fade, waiting for the day that is done. The repetition of "Oh, I'm making a new life for myself" emphasizes that the singer is taking control of their life and making a new start.
Overall, the song is about holding onto hope during tough times and refusing to give up. It is about recognizing our mistakes and taking ownership of our lives, even when things seem bleak. The singer is looking forward to something better and is willing to do whatever it takes to believe in it.
