Wanting to encourage the independent music scene, GrimSkunk have started Indica Records, opened up Skunk recording studio and set up a concert network in which bands exchange concerts in their respective fan based strongholds in order to guarantee exposure and crowds.
In studio, GrimSkunk usually produce their records as if playing a live show. They've been known to produce albums in very little time. In fact their self titled 1994 album was recorded and mixed in only eight days.
Insane
GrimSkunk Lyrics

And chain me to the wall
Make me scream but
Ignore my fuckin call
Pain in my head from
The vice-grips on my balls
I can't escape
There's a gunman in the hall
I'm insane, I'm insane
I think I lost my mind
I'm insane, I'm insane
I've just got to do unwind
I'm insane, I'm insane
No telling what I'll do
I'm insane, I'm insane
Use my brain for stew
Use 10 000 volts
To jump-start my brain
It doesn't work
So do it again and again
Would they do this
To a man named John Wayne
No they wouldn't
But he was insane
I'm insane, I'm insane
My brain doesn't work
I'm insane, I'm insane
I feel like a jerk
I'm insane, I'm insane
I'm living in the dark
I'm insane, I'm insane
Let's go kill in the park
The lyrics of GrimSkunk's "Insane" highlight the experiences of an individual who has been subjected to horrific forms of physical and mental torture. Throughout the song, the individual makes references to being locked up in a cell and chained to a wall, with an excruciating pain in their head from the vice-grips on their balls. The individual seems completely isolated, as they scream for help, only to be ignored. Amidst this chaos, there is a gunman in the hall, making it impossible for the individual to escape.
As the song progresses, the individual's mental state begins to deteriorate, as they repeatedly claim to be insane. They mention the use of 10,000 volts of electricity to jump-start their brain, but despite the attempts made to bring them back to reality, it just doesn't work. Towards the end of the song, the individual references John Wayne, indicating that if he were in the same situation, he would not have been treated the same way as he was not insane. The song's concluding lines see the individual suggest that they may kill in the park.
