To the rising high, no comment
All those lonely nights, all undressed
To the rising tide, we connect
We connect, we connect
We connect, we connect
We still can be there soon
All those empty nights , left alone
to the rising tide no one knows
We connect, we connect
We connect, we connect
Rising tide, Rising tide
Rising tide, Rising tide
We connect, we connect
We connect, we connect
The lyrics to Grinspoon's song "Rising Tide" seem to be about a couple that is connecting physically and emotionally during a time of change. The rising tide could be a metaphor for life's challenges and obstacles that they are facing together. The lyrics "To the rising high, no comment" could be interpreted as the couple not worrying about any negativity that may be around them or trying to bring them down. The lines "All those lonely nights, all undressed" might suggest that the couple found solace in each other during hard times.
The chorus, which repeats the phrase "We connect" several times, drives home the theme of the song, the deep connection between the couple. The lines "We're not here, in this room we still can be there soon" implies that even though they may be physically present in a particular space, they are mentally and emotionally somewhere else, perhaps in their own world where they can be themselves without fear of judgment.
Overall, "Rising Tide" seems to be a song about the comfort and reassurance that can come from a deep emotional and physical connection with another person, even during difficult times.
