Their music is described as a casually-indefinable, artistic paradise of its own, built upon a bedrock of lush electronic tones and analog textures, stomp-and-clap guitars and heart-swelling vocals.
Mercy
Grizfolk Lyrics

Monsters on my TV
We know damn right where we went wrong
We know enough to carry on
It's about time that we come clean
I'm not sure I still believe
Have a little mercy, have mercy on us
Dim the lights for the fallen, please
Show me when I can't see, have mercy on us
(Ooh-ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh-ooh)
Have a little mercy, have mercy on us
(Ooh-ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh-ooh)
Have a little mercy, have mercy on us
Word on the news is blurry
My world in a noose, untie me
Hard lines of truth are blinding
Like momentary flashes of lightning
We know damn right where we went wrong
We know enough to carry on
It's about time that we come clean
I'm not sure I still believe
We need a funeral for a bad dream
Have a little mercy, have mercy on us
Dim the lights for the fallen, please
Show me when I can't see, have mercy on us
(Ooh-ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh-ooh)
Have a little mercy, have mercy on us
(Ooh-ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh-ooh)
Have a little mercy, have mercy on us
We're carrying the light
We're carrying the light
We're carrying the light in the darkest times
We're carrying the light in the darkest times (darkest, darkest, darkest times)
We need a funeral for a bad dream
Have a little mercy, have mercy on us
Dim the lights for the fallen, please
Show me when I can't see, have mercy on us
(Ooh-ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh-ooh)
Have a little mercy, have mercy on us
(Ooh-ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh-ooh)
Have a little mercy, have mercy on us
The lyrics to Grizfolk's song Mercy seem to touch on themes of regret and seeking forgiveness for past mistakes. The opening lines describing "colors fading slowly" and "monsters on my TV" paint a picture of a world gradually losing its vibrancy and being consumed by negativity. The following lines repeat the phrase "we know damn right where we went wrong" multiple times, indicating a sense of responsibility for the state of the world.
The chorus repeatedly begs for mercy, both for ourselves and for those who have fallen, in order to help us see through the darkness. The lyrics evoke a sense of desperation, as if the situation has become so dire that only an act of mercy can make a difference. The line "we need a funeral for a bad dream" suggests a desire to leave past mistakes behind and move on to a brighter future.
Overall, the lyrics of Mercy seem to express a desire for redemption and forgiveness, both for ourselves and for society as a whole. The song recognizes the darkness and negativity in the world but holds out hope for a better future.

Great song, This song and Heavy Crown both from the new album Rarest of Birds are two of my favorite songs of 2019. Those 2 songs should have made Grizfolk breakout stars. I have to listen to the rest of the album to find some more songs. I hope they make it to South Florida some day, would love to hear the songs live.
