Your gone now, I feel fine
Somebody met you, I feel fine.
What about you, I bet you been cryin'
I bet you been goin' around town lyin'
Hey

Im drivin fast, I feel so fine
I got prince singing hot thing to me
I know every line
So I pulled up to the red light
Sittin there in my car
I looked up to my right
And there you are!

Sat there with some new girl what is this
Don't panic panic Mutya, don't drive erratic hey
That's who has replaced me? What a diss
Don't panic panic, don't act to manic manic

Its a sure fire way, to ruin my day
Just as soon as im on top of my life
There you are again, yeah
But don't react now, you cant go back now
Don't panic panic Mutya just look ahead now
Out of control

Lets cut to it, my girl for lunch
I was feeling on top of the world
And I just got a hunch
You inside, behind my back
Didn't need to turn around
I felt sick at the thought
He laughed aloud

Sat there with some new girl what is this
Don't panic panic Mutya, don't drive erratic hey
That's who has replaced me? What a diss
Don't panic panic, don't act to manic manic

Its a sure fire way, to ruin my day
Just as soon as Im on top of my life
There you are again
But don't react now, you cant go back now (no no no)
Don't panic panic Mutya, just look ahead now
Out of control

Mmmmph

Its a sure fire way, to ruin my day
Just as soon as im on top of my life
There you are again

But don't react now, you cant go back now
Don't panic panic mutya, just look ahead now

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of "Song 4 Mutya" by Groove Armada featuring Mutya Buena tell the story of a woman, Mutya Buena, who is trying to move past a broken relationship. She is driving around and feeling good about her life when she suddenly sees her ex-partner with a new woman. The sight of her ex causes Mutya to panic and wonder who this new woman is, causing her to feel out of control.

The lyrics also suggest that Mutya may have been lied to by her ex, as she wonders if they have been "going around town lyin'." These thoughts cause her to feel angry and upset, but she tries to keep her emotions in check by telling herself not to panic or act too manic. The chorus reminds Mutya that she needs to focus on the present and not let her ex's presence ruin her day.

Overall, the lyrics of "Song 4 Mutya" capture the complex emotions of moving on from a past relationship and the struggle to maintain control in the face of unexpected encounters with an ex.

@AllenMQuinn

Mutya deserved a stronger solo career. What a unique voice and presence.

@theresuga

I don't think she was really willing to work hard for it. Not that she doesn't work hard but you basically have to sacrifice everything, get stuck on tourbuses for months on end... she was never going to do that given she left SB so she could be a more present and stable mother.

@leoui5081

100% agree. Always loved her voice.

@dylanparker130

couldn't agree more - mutya, winehouse & gabrielle are the top 3 voices of their generation imo

@dylanparker130

@theresuga my impression was that, it wasn't about a lack of sacrifice - more that she didn't know how to "play the game" when it came to stuff like interviews.

look at radio 1 - they play everything rita ora releases non-stop, not least because she's a great interviewee. so they play the songs of people who boost their ratings when invited on.

@theresuga

@Dylan ParkerOh I think she knows how to play the game - she was working in the industry for years before her solo career. But yeah, I don't think she wants to play the game, especially when you have a kid and that becomes your strongest focus.

Sugababes weren't the same after Mutya left. I'm addicted to her voice. So underrated.

@lloydr64able

What voice? Sounds like autotuned whispering, heidi was the one with the voice!

@samwhyte4392

@Lloyd Robinson LOL! If sounding like the microphone is turned off in every live performance compared to Mutya and keisha is "the voice" then we've all been so wrong this whole time. Have a laugh 🤣🤣

@lloydr64able

@Samii Whyte keisha is the voice 😂😂😂 sinse when?
