Last Unicorn
Groove Coverage Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

When the last eagle flies over the last crumbling mountain,
And the last lion roars at the last dusty fountain.

In the shadow of the forest, though she may be all and one,
They would stare unbelieving at the last Unicorn.

When the first breath of winter through their flowers it's icing,
And you look to the north, and the pale moon is rising.

And it seems like all is dying, and would leave the world tomore.
In the distance hear the laughter of the last Unicorn

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Groove Coverage's song "Last Unicorn" are a beautiful metaphor about the fading of magic and natural beauty in the world. The verses describe the gradual disappearance of majestic creatures and the beauty that they symbolize, as the last eagle flies over the last crumbling mountain and the last lion roars at the last dusty fountain. These animals are the last examples of their kind, and as such they represent the end of an era of natural beauty and wonder.

However, there is still one magical creature left that exists in the shadows of the forest: the last unicorn. She is both all and one, meaning she is both an individual and representative of her kind. People who see her would stare unbelieving at such a wondrous creature, as if they cannot believe such magic could still exist in a world that seems to have lost so much of it.

The second half of the song paints a picture of a winter landscape, where everything seems to be dying and leaving the world behind. But in the distance, you can hear the laughter of the last unicorn, as if she is still finding joy and wonder despite the changes happening around her. This song is a poignant reminder of the importance of protecting and preserving the natural beauty and magic of the world.

First liked video, 15years ago, but it's really great when I listen to it now. I remember that time with dreams of a magical world where everyone lives in harmony and love.

God, I loved that movie so much. It brings back memories ;v; Though as much as I love Groove Coverage, the original is so much nicer and it brings a calmer tone to the unicorn than this does.

@RebellionWarrior

Yeah but the techno beat of this song is pretty catchy and it still has some sort of emotion. I wonder what America would have thought of Groove Coverage doing a cover for their song?

@Rosalie1942

The artwork in this video is absolutely gorgeous. It looks great on a big screen. Thd music goes with the art.

@PokerFaceMoose
