Los Dos Rivales
Grupo Exterminador Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Alto en nombre de la ley!
Nadie se mueva!
Ehy tu como te llamas?
Yo me llamo Zuca y me apellido Motón!

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Grupo Exterminador's song Los Dos Rivales tell the story of two rivals, one dressed as a drug dealer and the other as a government commander, who meet in a bar called El Navegante. The drug dealer offers the commander a drink, but tensions soon rise as the two begin to exchange verbal blows. The drug dealer challenges the commander to a fight to the death, saying that he's been longing to take down a "toron" - a powerful drug smuggler - for some time. The song ends with a reference to the commander's death and a warning to others not to mess with drug dealers.

The lyrics paint a vivid picture of the tensions that exist between drug dealers and government officials in Mexico, where drug cartels often wield enormous power and control over large parts of the country. The song also reflects the machismo culture that is so prevalent in Mexican society, where men are often expected to engage in violent or aggressive behavior to prove their worth.
