Gus Lyrics

La calidez de unos besos
Que nunca voy a alcanzar
Las noches en desvelo
Jugando con tu pelo
El suéter que te di
Y que ahora está maldito
No es por el dialecto
Tú caminas rápido
Yo lo hago lento
Tengo muchos sueños
Tú tienes proyectos
Te gusta el café
Y yo hasta lo detesto
Nos dividen mares
Y no se me el trayecto
Oigo tu voz cerca
Pero yo estoy lejos
A veces pienso mucho
Y no sé lo que siento
Si no me superas
Entonces lo lamento
El frio de tus labios
Lo siento en los míos
Y el miedo de tus ojos
Muriendo por ser míos
Las noches en desvelo
Y el mar que nos divide
Las noches en silencio sin ti
Y aceptar que así se vive
In "Frío", Gus talks about missing someone who was once close to him. He describes feeling the coldness of the air hitting him, a contrast to the warmth of the kisses he will never experience again. He reminisces about their sleepless nights playing with her hair and giving her a sweater, which now seems cursed. He expresses frustration at the distance between them, both physical and emotional, as they walk at different paces and have different goals. He reflects on the division of the seas that separate them and the inability to understand his feelings. He acknowledges the fear that grips him as he accepts that his unrequited love is hopeless.
The song is heartbreaking in its raw honesty of a love unfulfilled. It portrays a common experience that many people can relate to, which is longing for someone who is no longer a part of their lives. The use of simplistic imagery like cold air, hair, and sweater further emphasizes the simplicity of the emotions involved, making it easy for listeners to connect with such feelings.
Additionally, Gus's use of bilingualism in the song is noteworthy as he effortlessly switches between Spanish and English. The line "No es por el dialecto" (It's not about the dialect) highlights the complex nature of communication and relationships.
