And starting on a family tree,
Imagine starting on a family tree;
The mama is you and papa is me.
If your heart goes bumpety bump;
It's Love-Love-Love!
If your throat comes up with a lump;
If your knees go knockety knock;
It's Love-Love-Love!
If you're coo-koo like the coo-koo in the clock
It's Love-Love-Love!
Imagine you imagining a cozy flat.
Complete with running dog and cat,
Imagine having running dog and cat
And we will have welcome all over the mat.
If your heart goes bumpety bump;
It's Love-Love-Love!
If your throat comes up with a lump;
It's Love-Love-Love!
If your knees go knockety knock;
It's Love-Love-Love!
If you're coo-koo like the coo-koo in the clock
It's Love-Love-Love!
Imagine you imagining a man and wife;
We'll go buy a fork and a knife;
Imagine eating with a fork and a knife;
How ritzy we'll be for the rest of out life.
If your heart goes bumpety bump;
It's Love-Love-Love!
If your throat comes up with a lump;
It's Love-Love-Love!
If your knees go knockety knock;
It's Love-Love-Love!
If you're coo-koo like the coo-koo in the clock
It's Love-Love-Love!
The lyrics of Guy Lombardo's "It's Love Love Love" tell a sweet and simple story of two people imagining a future together. The first verse sets the scene, with one person imagining starting a family with the other. The second verse imagines a cozy home with their pets, and the final verse is about the couple becoming a traditional married couple with their own utensils to eat with. Each verse ends with a repetition of the idea that if your heart is racing, your throat is feeling tight, your knees are shaking, or you feel a little crazy, it can only mean one thing - it's love.
The lyrics of "It's Love Love Love" are fairly straightforward, but they do convey a very pure and optimistic perspective on love. The idea that two people can imagine a happy future together and that simply feeling a rush of emotion means that it must be love is a charming one. This song reflects an era in which romance was often portrayed in simple and almost naive terms, which is part of its appeal. Lombardo's upbeat and lively melody complements the lyrics well, making this a delightful song that has stood the test of time.

Great vocal by Skip Nelson. I first heard him on some Glenn Miller songs where he's singing in a lower register. I like how he sounds in this song better.

Phil Harris & Mary Livingstone sang it on an episode of the Jack Benny radio show. It wasn't terrible, but it wasn't great either.
