Lean on me when times are bad.
When the day comes and you're down,
In a river of trouble and about to drown
Just hold on, I'm comin',
Hold on, I'm comin'.
If you get cold I'll be your cover.
Don't have to worry 'cause I'm here,
No need to suffer baby, I'm here.
Just hold on, I'm comin',
Hold on, I'm comin'.
Hold on, I'm comin',
Hold on, I'm comin'.
(Lookie here)
Reach out to me for satisfaction,
(Lookie here. All you got to do)
Call my name now for quick reaction.
Don't you ever be sad,
Lean on me when the times are bad.
When the day comes and you're down baby,
In a river of trouble and about to drown,
Just hold on, I'm comin',
Hold on, I'm comin'
Just hold on, don't you worry, I'm comin', (here ya come)
Hold on, I'm comin'.
Just hold on, don't you worry I'm comin',
Hold on, I'm comin'.
Guy Sebastian's song "Hold on I'm Coming" is a beautifully written piece that primarily talks about the emotional support one should give to another. It assures the listener that whenever he or she is down or feels like drowning in a "river of trouble," they can count on the singer to be there for them. According to the lyrics, they should hold on and wait for him as he is on his way. He promises to be their cover when they are cold and not to suffer because he is here to help. The chorus repeats the phrase "Hold on, I'm comin'" several times, which signifies hope and reassurance for the listener.
The lyrics show a deep understanding of the importance of having someone to lean on during difficult times. It demonstrates how crucial it is to know that one has a support system that cares about them and is willing to go the extra mile to make sure they are okay. By saying "just hold on, I'm comin'," Guy Sebastian gives the listener a sense of stability and lets them know that they can count on him.
