Gya telah mengenal musik sejak kecil. Maklum, sulung dari empat bersaudara ini adalah putri pasangan Donny Hardono, pentolan Audiensi Band serta pemilik studio musik dan perusahan rekaman, dan ibunya adalah Lies Indriati, mantan pemain bass band wanita lawas, Aria Junior. Kemampuan vokal Gya terasah di panggung hiburan lantaran menjadi backing vokal tetap Audiensi Band. Bulan Agustus 2007, Gya diajak oleh pamannya, Dian Pramana Poetra untuk mengisi konser ClasMild I Like Monday (ILM) Today's Sensation kelima tanggal 9 Agustus 2007. Pada malam itu, Gya melantunkan lagu "Melayang" (January Christy).
Pada usianya yang ke-17, Gya merilis album perdananya. Album bertajuk Semoga Kau Mengerti yang dirilis bulan September 2007 ini menjagokan lagu berjudul sama. Beberapa musisi yang terlibat dalam album ini antara lain, Andi Riyanto, Dewi Rae, dan Emil Bias. Meski musiknya berbasic pop, tapi dikemas dengan beat-beat yang cukup riang. Album yang terjual lebih dari 100.000 kopi ini mengantarkan Gya menjadi nominator SCTV Music Award 2005 dan AMI Award 2005.
Tiga tahun vakum, Gya kembali merilis album kedua yang bertajuk Kembali pada Desember 2007. Album ini berisi 12 lagu dan menjagokan "Mencari Cinta" karya Iwang Noorsaid sebagai single hit pertama dan "Kembali", karya Tohpati sebagai single hit kedua.
