I remember articles saying to pusher had cerebral palsy and was partially sighted.

I think, what's much more likely, is that the pusher had learning disabilities.

That said, 99.999999% of LD people would actually know better than to push others in a panic.

Look how dangerous that road is, I’d have been on the path too. A local cyclist was killed here a few months ago, she was a member of a club and an experienced rider. A car clipped her on a busy duel carriageway where visibility was excellent, she died at the scene.
This poor lady was just out in a shopper bike, look how easily she fell into the road, that’s why she was on the pavement.

0:17 - look at the foot movement of the pedestrian (Auriol Grey) - she stepped TOWARDS the cyclist and then lingered. Her body also turned sideways. Even though it is not clearly captured by the camera, it looks like she pushed the cyclist. Also, instead of going in and giving her space - she decided to purposely step out to push her onto oncoming traffic.

I used to cycle in college but two incidents occurred that made me stop altogether. The first having a two litre bottle of piss thrown at me from a moving car. The other time was when I was turning right on a road. Had my arm held out to indicate my intention to go right. The car behind undercut me. I smashed my extended arm on their wing mirror. They then had the gall to stop and shout at me for damaging their car. Only for the driver of the car behind that car saw the whole thing and stopped to see if I was OK. Turned out he was an off duty guard. He asked me if I was OK and if I needed to go to the hospital. I was worried and shocked badly bruised but OK. He told me to go and that he would take care of the undercutting driver. No idea what happened after I left.

I discussed this topic with a friend that I have known for over 30 years. He has always walked where possible rather than use transport and he said to me that cyclists have very little respect pedestrians and he's nearly been knocked over by them countless times.

There's no simple solution because our road network is antiquated and authorities try to make the best of a bad situation.

There is a significant amount of public anger about this prosecution in the UK. She was totally wrong for pushing the cyclist and should be charged with manslaughter in my opinion. If the cyclist had survived I'd hope for a huge fine for endangering pedestrians by riding on a pavement over the legal age of 7 years old. Honestly if she was cycling appropriately this would never have happened. That doesn't take the fault off the padestrian.

When the fixed penalty notice for pavement cycling was introduced the minister responsible for the bill said that it wasn't intended for cyclists who were on the pavement out of fear for their safety and we're courteous to others. This has been confirmed by several chiefs of police as how they enforce. This isn't somewhere where the law is clear.

The tragedy here is that everyone involved has an argument. The partially sighted woman is probably fed up with feeling scared walking along pavements. The cyclist is fed up with being terrified on the roads. Naturally, the actions were not acceptable but, while a woman who is generally not a risk to society (probably) is serving three years at our expense it would be bloody useful if the government took some responsibility and invested in a safe cycling network like nearly every other vaguely developed country does.

Car driver wasn't prosecuted - he couldn't have done anything - he had no time to react.. However he will have to suffer running over that poor lady all his life. The pedestrian just walked off and went shopping in Sainsbury's apparently.

I thought cyclists weren't allowed on footpaths...and cyclist should have seen the woman on footpath and slowed to pass her then she wouldn't have had to swerve anywhere..let alone into a busy road...if a cyclist feels they have to mount the pavement they should ride facing traffic so they can see the oncoming dangers and not swerve into road...did she have earplugs in as well... Bring back cycling proficiency tests.

Unfortunately, The woman looked to have had plenty of room on the footpath and I didn't notice a cycle lane, I'm sure the woman also didn't need to walk in the middle of the footpath 🤔 but that was her judgement, and this is only my opinion.

Sometimes, British justice is just as inept and as anachronistic as everywhere else.
Open the justice system up to further scrutiny and get rid of "the judge or magistrate" had a bad day element.
I wish somebody adept in law, would take a look at the chasm between sentences handed out for similar offences and how far more serious offenders are often treated with leniency.
It stinks.
